Anyone have any idea what could be the problem?

I can connect to some servers within 5 sec but other times when i try to connect to a server it just sits at awaiting game state.... although when i check x-fire theres people in there along with a couple other people i know getting in fine as well... i dont get an error msg at all it just says awaiting game state and doesnt load the map at all... though some other server it start to load within 5 sec or so...

Anyone know the problem?

It could be the server is running a mod, such as pam1.4b or has a custom map or some other feature and requires a file to download to your system. Check you game settings under multiplayer options. Make sure you have allow download set to yes. This will probably fix your problem. If later the file causes poblems such as pk3 unpure client on other servers. Just remove the file and save it in a seperate folder so you can load it when you want to play on a particular server. And then this may not be the solution either, but just check and see. Some files on many servers can be large and require a long time to download. We run the Merciless blood mod on CoD West 2 and it can take 30 minutes on some systems to download. Some custom maps can take a couple of minutes or more.
