Just received the following from Activision. It's a sneak peak to what will be revealed on May 24th.
This trailer of sorts runs about 17 seconds but shows some good in game footage.

Those look like cut scenes to me - not game play. I could be wrong but that's the appearance.

I have every confidence that the single player will be an intense roller coaster ride that we have become accustomed to.
All we want from the MP game is much the same as before, a little more eye candy, may be have the ranks and unlocks further apart. Harder earned = more respected.
Wish list:
A new game mode like twar for MW:2 some nice big, complex maps. Something WaW did get right, entering and exiting buildings at different levels. More than just a house shaped box on the landscape. No small arena nade-fest maps like shipment. No map should be so small that a nade can be thrown from one spawn to the other. No map should be so simple that you can shoot from spawn to spawn.
For all of the technical stuff to work so we admins can get on with hosting great servers. Something the competitive guys can work with and the mod community can get their teeth in to.
It should work! Windows XP, Vista, Win7and Mac also 32bit & 64bit, single core or multi, ATI or nVidia. It's too much to ask for a Linux port but it should support all of the current systems and all at the same time. The Mac boy's shouldn't have to wait.
A built in game patcher isn't too much to expect in this day and age, something that forces patch installation and punkbuster shouldn't be an option. Everyone should be running at the same level. It should be enforced, as part of the authentication. This might slow down the pirates and crackers.
Any editing of cvr's should get you a PB kick/ban, if you can't change it from the in-game menu it's cheating, in my opinion, but that's just me...

If I could add to that wishlist. I would like to see a return of the friend system from WaW. If this this means a return of the pseudo-login with registered names, so be it, but that means fixing the ability to ALT-TAB without timing out and general load times need to be improved.
I disagree on meaningful rank. I have over 300 hours on BF2 and still don't have the last two guns from the SF pack. I have about 200 hours on COD5 and I still haven't completed prestige 3. I am sick of content being locked behind gates that require me to change my play to be another camping-tard who just sits and chains hardpoints. I had no problems with the original COD4/COD5 ranking except...
1. Ranking should be included in mods if it is not "meaningful" anyway. People will whip through it at light speed or hack it anyway, why not make it so that it works on custom maps and custom set ups. Stats padding servers still exist in BF2 where EA has actually shut some down, without expensive enforcement from Activision, ranking is meaningless outside of being a game mechanic to play through to learn multiplayer. Let it carry into the mods so maybe the creative members of your community can contribute to the longevity and quality of the game experience.
2. Get off your butts and figure out some asymmetry. Everyone should not have to carry an RPG because you couldn't get the AT-4 to work. Factional weapons should be possible and forcing people to play with other weapons will help prevent that feeling that you are always dieing from the same gun...not to mention it will force you to do some damn balancing. No more recoilless and nearly sway-less wonders like the M4 and G3 in hardcore unless there was a good OpFor counter.
What happened to your country mattering? If my uniform is basically going to be Red v. Blue, I might as well play TF2.

All I want is honest to goodness PC support before and after the game ships.
If you're going to take the time to try and get me to buy your game on the PC then I don't care about all the other platforms. And that should also be the feelings from the PS3 guys, as well as the Xbox 360 guys independently.
Don't lump us all in and then try to support all of us with the same core team. You make money on each version, support version like it's the only version .... if you're going to say we make more money on (fill in platform name here) then don't support any other platform. You make money on every platform if you didn't you wouldn't be selling on said platform. stop being greedy

Amen Rudedog.
I thought I would also post a link to IGN's coverage (http://pc.ign.com/articles/981/981400p1.html)of this video. Their reporter, Hilary Goldstein, wrote someting in it that hit a chord with me.
"The footage can best be described as the coolest looking G.I. Joe game ever. No, really, it looked like scenes from the classic cartoon re-imagined for Activision's brutal and bloody modern war. "
If that doesn't say it all, I don't know what does. We can argue about gameplay mechanics and support all we want. All Activision cares about is making as many console players as possible feel like the "real American hero."

Ill add to that as well:
Ranking, stats etc should not be held locally. They should be stored on a server. I dont like the idea of losing ranks or people hacking the local files to achieve a higher rank.
A better server browser. Far too many games completely over look the importance of a good server browser. Im fed up trying to look for a server (in-game) where the server name has UK in it. Is it too much to ask to have better filters?
Changing classes during the game. It annoys me that I have to alter my classes either in the dying seconds of the end of a round or I have to leave the server.
Weapons: I think you should only get certain weapons depending on the side you are on eg AK-47 for terrorists and M4 for Marines. Not unless of course you pick up a weapon during the run of play.
About the cvars, that is more to do with PB than IW. Im sure IW dont like people taking unfair advantage but they are too bothered as long as people are buying the game.

IMO there should be no ranks period but having them locally with a possible online backup is the best option since a central stats server costs money and I like free content unlike BF series that had booster after booster plus in game ads to top it off. I never seen why people care if someone has a higher rank then others. Just a number in a virtual world.
Storing locally means stats are always saved and no stats would be lost due to a stats server being offline. We seen Activisions track record of running a simple master server in the past. It's also nice not having to sign into a server just to play the game with stats.

Needs a customize menu system that can be changed at any time or maybe even a temp class which can be altered at any time during gameplay. I like Counter-Strike where you can bind buy weapons options to keys for easy and quick selections.

Here's another example of an easy fix that has been around for god knows how long.
In Delta Force 1,2,3,.... you had armories on the field where you could change your load out in game. (made for a great ambush spot)
You don't really need an armory per say, you could use a supply truck, parachute dropped canisters/creates you get the point.
Then make these dvar-ed so admins can enable or disable them on their servers...

Has anyone else seen that the PC preorder is $60 just like the consoles? At least it is at BB online.
