Hi...
I hope some one can help me. I was wondering if there is a way to be able to see who logs in under RCON on COD?
I belive that some one got our password, and is loggin in and messing with people.
Any info would be GREAT!!!

Thank Ya

If it's anything like MOH, then with developer set to 2, you'll see the IP the rcon cmd is coming from. That's about as close as you'll get, methinks.

Why bother finding out just change your RCON password

It is always a good idea to NOT use your default config password(the one your system uses by default should the server reboots) this config password should only be known by one, maybe two people in the clan. If the server should crash then one of those sets the normal config your going to use on the server, or at the very least changes the default password. In this way should someone get the password and wreaks havoc on your server (and possibly changes the password) all you have to do is reset the server and whoever has the the default pass is back in business.. (and use a new pass from that point forward)

We have changed the password a few times...and I'm afraid that a trusted person w/Rcon is the one doing it. That's why I would like to know how we can see whos actully logged in, or the IP that the rcon command came from.
Thank you all for you quick responces as well.

I forgot to mention that you have to have logging enabled to look that stuff up. logfile 3 works best for me.

The sneaky way to find out if a "trusted" person is messing with the server is to change the password every couple of days, and only give it out to one person at a time, but don't tell them they are the only one with that password.
That way if the server settings are changed on a certain day,it could only be the that person,or somebody else is hacking into your server, and getting the password. :?:

The other way to do it is to make up a rota with all the ppl who have the password, give them each a different password, and then allocate them a week each (or just a day maybe) when it is their to Rcon on the server.

This means you have to remember to change the password every week,or whatever timescale you want to use.
Since only you will know all the p/words,if the server is being messed with you should find out who is behind it,or they will realise that if they mess about, they are sure to get caught, and will stop doing it.

Also, make sure that there isn't a player logging in with the name "console" and messing with people that way. You haven't specified exactly what problems are being caused, but we had a joker pull this on us a few days ago. Console is now a banned name.
