Start a server?

I would like to start a small server and be able to play on the same cpu. Everytime I try CoD Console pops up but nothing happens.

I've tried Internet and Lan. We have a few cpu's on one router does that make a difference?


I am new to this and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you will need to connect to the IP your router gives you. As for anyone outside your network, you will need to use IP forwarding to forward anyone trying your outside IP to the system running the server; you will need to open the proper ports as well (ask someone else that one as I do not know them...other then 28960)

You've just chosen to start a "dedicated" server. A dedicated server only runs a server, that's why you only see the console - the server's loaded, it's just waiting for people to connect.

If you want to play at the same time you can either load multiplayer and connect to your server: /connect <your ip> or you can choose dedicated "no" when starting your server.
