Yes that's right...JD over at Treyarch has spilled the beans on the release date for the new map pack..of course us PC folk will have to wait until a later date as the March 19th date is only for the console kiddies.

In the interview JD talks exclusively about the new Nazi Zombie map "Verruckt" which apparently means "crazy" in German. If you ask me, I think it's Verruckt that the PC crowd is once again getting stiffed in favor of the consoles. Guess we should be used to it by now. :p

But thats because the console kiddies are going to have to pay for there map pack, where pc'ers aren't, so there going to need to give the kiddies it first just to keep the peace.

Any idea if it will be free or not? If not, I'll pass.

Most likely as someone else mentioned, the console guys will have to pay via the PSN and MS points while the PC guys won't. We'll have to wait and see if they do it the same way as IW did with CoD4.

Note that Intel or Nvidia came to the rescue of the PC customers, in regards to the content that the console customer had to pay for. IW did not give anything away for free.

We are all hoping and speculating that Intel and or another large named sponsor will come to our rescue again.

However also note and remember that Treyarch also did a complete 180 on the way maps and mods where handled, from how IW handled them in CoD4 (Darpa game of the year) so don't count on anything.

What also has me concerned is how Treyarch can not release any info regarding this map pack. I guess just like the PC demo, they have not started on it yet for us........

What ever happened to great new DLC content never seen before?

As I have stated before, not one thin dime .....

As I have stated before, not one thin dime .....

Intel is rumored to be sponsoring the PC DLC.

Agreed.... and for the record, the "new" VERRUCKT Zombie map is set in the Asylum map.. yeah, right new and great. Sure, it has a few new twists and gimmicks in it but it is the same old Asylum map.

They ought to concentrate on fixing the game instead. The "Con-Job" has gone on for far too long.

Good points RD and Nomad. I agree with both of you.

@Nomad -- IW did the same thing when they released the "new version" of Crash (Christmas Crash) and re-skinned Carentan. I guess the buck stops at originality after the games are released. :hand:

I'm around 95% certain that the new maps will be free to PC users. If I'm wrong, and I often am. They will not get a penny from me and I wont run the maps on my server.

If the mod community would release a "unified" map pack for mass release that would be cool. Much better than stock maps 'with a twist' or re-skinning oldies.

There's some great artists out there and if only some co-ordination and quality testing could be done, there'd be perhaps better reception from the community if it was made into an official map pack rather than Treyarch and IW going to for the easy marketing gimic just to get people's hopes up, only to have them dashed upon download.

Just a thought.

Info on patch 1.4 and DLC

Hey guys,

The PC players have map editors, custom maps, mods - how do you think the console players feel about this? I don't see how the PC players have been mistreated in any way here.

Given the above, the PC Downloadable Content is taking some extra time as we prioritized addressing some far more important issues in our first 3 patches, which took time away from polishing and preparing the PC DLC. We also have additional updates which will be released in a patch concurrent with the PC DLC (including improvements to the spawn logic, "tank lag", IWD / mod support).

When I had the GameSpot interview, we had not clarity on precisely when the PC DLC would release, which is why I said more information would be coming soon. I appreciate your patience.

Regards,
-JD

woowoo was that actually posted on cod.com, the official forums?

I would love to see the replies to the part where we should be grateful for what we have paid for so far.... if possible would love a link.

I really hope they can be patient with us the next time they want us to by another product from them....

Here's the thing, now they're saying there will be a patch with this new content. Where was this info before? All I read was "PC = more info soon", nothing more.

Then when we're sitting here with our thumbs up are butts, he gets pissed at us for complaining that we want more info. Remember the beta? That whole coming soon... how well did that work for us the customer?

As much as I would rather like a WWII based FPS, I'm looking more towards COD:MW2.

One more thing,

Who wants to bet that when we get the next patch/DLC. 1/2 the things that should have been fixed in the first patch will still be broken.

And we'll be labeled complainers AGAIN.....

just posted

Hi all,

Just a quick update to the PC Patch 1.4 status. This is the patch which will include the DLC Map Pack 1 content, as well as address a few issues with the game.

Items Addressed:
IWD / dedicated server anomalies (the people this effects will know what I mean by this)
“Tank Lag” with logfile enabled
Improvements to the MP spawn logic
Autobalance functionality in various game modes

A complete list of change will be posted when the patch releases. We are working as quickly as possible to get this patch and DLC out as soon as possible.

Regards,
-JD
