The nvidia beta 182.05 has fixed multicore issues with tf2 for me and others are reporting less stuttering in L4D. Valve is supposedly adding in improved mulit core support from l4d with the scout update.
Once you get them installed you have to enable mat_queue_mode 2 in tf2. You can do so by adding it in the launch options. (right click the tf2 entry, properties, launch options)
It is now stable, and I haven't had a single crash. By enabling both cores I get an increase of 15 fps average.
I can't wait to get back my P5e from RMA and try this on my e8400@3.5

o Up to 9% performance increase in Half-Life 2 at high resolution with AA.
o Up to 11% performance increase in Left 4 Dead at high resolution with AA.
o Up to 10% performance increase in Race Driver: GRID at high resolution and AA.
· Includes full support for OpenGL 3.0 on GeForce 8-series, 9-series, and 200-series GPUs.
· Automatically installs the new PhysX System Software version 9.09.0203.
