PC vs Console

I have always wondered why PC users and console users cannot play on the same server. It seems alot of people think it would be unfair to console users if they have to go up against users on a PC. I know all my friends who play on consoles dont think this is the case, they feel that they could do just as good against PC players as other console players. I feel differently but lets have a poll decide.:cool:

Lets put it this way.

At last years Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare event, at IW's office in LA. Several of us where talking with Grant Collier the GM of IW, about this.

He stated they would never do this because you would have to cripple the PC version so much to make it an even playing field and they would not do it.

Several have tried and from what I've read most have failed if not all. Also GaretJax (CoDTV) also brings up a great point (at the event as well).

The differences in mouse vs controller sensitivity is enormous. The mouse on a PC, can move in one or another direction so much quicker then a controller can. Thus this alone would give the PC a huge advantage in itself. It's also why consoles have auto aim.

Personally if the console folks wouldn't mind, Hell I'm all for it :hand:

not that the mouse and keyboard rule fps games.

but why would any pc user want to keep there pc spec stock like a console.
the fact i can change say a graphics card and keep it ahead of the game is great.

but with the consoles they are dated before they get released.
i dont think a console could ever be future proof like a pc can.

i know its more to keep and run a pc to a higher spec but thats why we love em.
consoles are realy aimed at people who want it to work first time straight out the box.

anyway there two gaming platforms and should stay that way.

I must admit my opinion might have been coloured by the experience...

It might be fun to have them on the server, once they were totaly owned they just might shut up about "How Awesome XBox/PS3" The truth about PC vs Console thing would finaly be put to bed.

Personally I would love to see them in game. They sell 5 to 1 over the pc. For what ever reason people on the console think they own. It just may help the pc gaming industry make a come back. Like rudedog said, Hell Im up for it to.

If we are lucky one day we may have a chance to play against console users. If that day comes I look forward to unleashing death and destruction upon those console players who think they pwn everyone.:D

PC can play against console, there's LIVE for Windows. I warned my
step-son(17) I would kick his butt if I could use a keyboard and a
mouse on the 360, well guess what??? I found and bought this
attachment that allows a keyboard and a mouse to be used on a
360...Guess what? Kicked his butt!! You can also use your computer
to VS peeps on LIVE that are using 360's:

I will say this. I believe, and there might be more on the list than I am aware of, but I haven't really kept up with it after my experience, but Shadowrun was among the first that you could play across platform on. I purchased it for both the 360 and the PC just to test the differences. Whoa. The statement about the controller is way on. Playing them side by side, I could see and feel the difference and pretty soon could pick out in game who was using the 360 and who was using the PC. Never looked at another cross platform game again, and unless it was a console exclusive game, haven't bought too many games for the console sonce then either.

I see no cod titles in the LIVE link above.... shame - almost makes me want to go get Quanum of Solace just to have some fun, but then a barrel of fish would be cheaper...

I have over 300 titles for the 360, PS/3, WII, PS/2...
Cant stand 360 controllers, PS/3 is cool for fighting
type games like MK DC Universe, Virtua, etc...COD4
was ok on it, but way better on the PC. We have 5
computers(alas we have 5 kids)...Mine of course is
the coolest :)

Anywho, bought that wretched Viva Pinata for the PC
, it game with a free month if anyone wants to try it,
have at it.
