mod shuts server down

every time i try and use a mod for my server it wont let the server start up. i put the mod in the main folder, when i start my server it loads to a point then says. shut down server or shut down game or something like that.

has anyone had a problem like this and what can i do to fix it. any help you might offer will be appreciated.

Is this any mod or a specific mod? What mod(s) are you using?

Is your server 1.1 or 1.2? Are you using the correct version of a mod that is compatible with your CoD version?
