is it possible, or does a way exist for playing in lan to the new Cod without having to have to insert the proper one cd-key?

Setting the server in Dedicated server mod via the LAN switch should allow you to play without having to authenticate back to the mother ship (authentication server).

However everyone needs to be on the same side of the router or shall we say same subnet.

As for the clients, I'm not sure if the single player still looks for you to authenticate, have not tested that out yet.
