I try to change fov and it will change but will not save after a death or anything have to keep entering it. Even changed it in mp_config to 80 and keeps going back to 65 :( any ideas?

Strange ............ that was the way to do it COD 4, I wonder if they are disallowing it now?.

I set mine to 75 in the beta and the game crashed, I assumed it was because it was a beta.

If you are happy with your MP config settings, I wonder whether it will work if you make the file 'read only' ........... stopping the game overwriting it with default settings.

Worth a try I suppose ......

You can bind the fov setting to any key.

bind F1 "toggle cg_fov 65 80"

You have to press f1 everytime you spawn which is a pain but it this seems to be the only way to keep the setting at 80. Any ideas why treyarch want the setting kept at 65? In Cod 4 you could set the total in the config file to 80 and it would stay set. I tried making the setting 80 in cod:ww and then made the config file "read only" but the game still sets it to 65.

or you bind it to your w button
/bind w "+forward; cg_fov 80"

Now that sounds like a good idea :)

Though I am not sure about sending a constant stream of cg_fov commands to the game, but I suppose it will do no harm

Hey Benedict (or anyone else that knows),
How would the bind look if I were binding it to my "LEFT MOUSE" button.
(I use my left mouse button as my "forward" control).

Thanks!

I think it will be that:
bind MOUSE1 "+forward; cg_fov 80"

Thanks for the console bind Nasty Rabbit.

Yeah Benedict, I use a messed up control config for ergonomic reasons.
Works for me tho!

a - fire
s - nothing, just a balance point for my ring finger
d - strafe left
f - strafe right

left mouse - forward
right mouse - backward
middle mouse button - use
scroll wheel - weapon inventory

I started playing with these settings when I started playing FPS with Quake (1 or 2..... can't remember)..... so, it's always felt comfortable for me.

It's funny thinking about using my pinky as my trigger finger tho.... lol.
