View Full Version : Help with server .cfg
Hey can anyone tell me how to make a server.cfg file?
Check the downloads page, there's a few config builders there you can use; they're useful for first timers.

And don't use the filename server.cfg, as that filename already exists in pak0.pk3
Best one I have seen thus far.

Thanx, i have the .cfg file created, but now how do i get call of duty to run that server config? When ever i go to start new server i dont get the choice to run the .cfg. So how do i get tit to run the .cfg?
Alright scratch that last post. I got all that stuff shown to me already. My next, and hopefully final question is, what are the syntzax for commands in the console for rcon. For instance, say i want to kick someone from my server, how do i do that? And also, how to i change maps manually in the console? If anyone knows where a good link to these types of commands are could you please post it
I submitted a RCON Reference Guide for CoD to rudedog a few minutes ago, expect it to be in the guides section soon.
In the meantime, you can view my guide by clicking [HERE] (http://www.braedeninkpen.com/open/CoD_RCON_Reference_Guide-Public_version.htm)
alright, ive created my server, but i am only allowed to have 12 people on it, even on lan. I checked my max clients and its 20 but yet when the servers created i can only have 12. Anyone know why?
Do you have sv_privateclients set to anything other then "0"?
ya thanks i had just figured that out yesterday, i had private clients at 8. Also i was wondering about modding, what programs would i use, and how do i do it? If anyone can post a link to a web page that has a guide that would be great.
ok i guess to rephrase my question does anyone know how to open a .pk3 file?
WinZip, WinRar, PakScape; these will all open .zip and .pk3 files. PakScape is meant for pk3 creation and manipulation, though I've used WinZip to do it as well (just rename the .zip file to .pk3).
Just go to www.downloads.com and you'll find all of them.
