My custom controls don't work in COD:WaW Beta...where is config_mp.cfg file?

Setting the controls to certain keys in game doesn't work. The same thing happened in COD4, but we were able to manually edit the config_mp.cfg file in the players/profiles folders of the COD4 file structure. Looking through the COD:WaW files, I can't find the multiplayer conig or player/profile to manually edit the control keys i use, e.g. number pad and surrounding keys. Any idea how I can get my custom keys to work?
