I am not surprised. I, like many others I chat with, have moved on from COD4 and are awaiting COD: WW.
As a server admin, clan leader, and avid gamer, I am having a more and more difficult time keeping interest and loyalty in one game. I used to play MOHAA and MOHAAS religiously and spent well over 2 years of my life dedicated to those games. However, the newer games, while fun, exciting, and have spectacular graphics compared to the old days, for some reason are no longer holding my interest for more than a couple of months.

Levels.
Both games (especially MOHAA) had good levels that were well balanced, allowed for a variety of tactics, and were just plain fun.

You serious?
I thought mohaa was a game that had good game play in its time but the maps were badly designed and were too one sided especially on the hunt. From being in ladders/leagues on average there were only 3 maps played; the hunt, V2 and the bridge. Plus mohaa is/was about learning grenade tricks to bounce them off walls at ridiculous speeds and angles on maps.
I agree with you The_Humungus on CoD4. I play CoD4 from time to time but Im waiting for CoD5 to come out. I still like playing matches but dont play much on public servers. Tbh I want a new battlefield game but going by the mess EA make with games recently Im not getting my hopes up too high.

Yeah, I do think the maps for MOHAA were overall well designed. As to the grenades, I usually played on servers that limited them severely. The default of four or five grenades was rediculous. A lot of the Team DM maps were really good too (southern France and Stalingrad come immediately to mind). Even after SH and BT came out, some of the original maps remained mainstays in the line up as long as they supported the game type.
I agree that nade spamming was a pain, but that was not an issue with the maps, it was a problem with the weapon / ammo load outs and most decent mods were quick to address that.

I loved Southern France.
Funny story, last week I twittered about this.
I'm sitting on a con call with about 400 Marketing people from my company (APC which is now owned by Schneider Electric = 17Billion sales). Our old VP which is now the VP of Marketing for Schneider is showing a slide show via MS Netmeeting and he is talking about working together as a team. He then clicks the next slide and BAM! An old screen shots of MOH:AA Southern France and how it was hard to move down this ally without working as a team. God I love that!
TBH, I thought he gave up using the old MOHAA Screen shots in his presentations a long time ago. it was nice to see him bring them back. Had about 3 MP and 4 SP screen shots in there, all of MOHAA.

A VP using MOHAA screen shots in his business power points - and its not even Google or some other "hip" outfit but APC / Schnieder! Awesome! :D
