Ok Guyz Here's The Deal

We Have A Linux Wiv E-Frag Server Now Read Around Various Sites
It Keeps Coming Up That Certain Config Files Need To Be On The Server So They Can Manually Be Edited To Remove Bans
Now I'v Looked Every Wer For These Files On Our server
But To No Avail.Sites Talk About GuDi, Ban.Txt files an' Such Like
All We Have On Our Server Is One Config Which Is The "dedicated.cfg" And Yes It Is Set To "1" For "server.cfg"

Now My "Q" Is This, I Created The Ban Using HLC 4.1 How Can I Unban Player As Im Not Sure Wether The Ban Was By "client" or by "ip"

This is the only shortfall with leasing servers... sometimes you don't have full control of the directory information.

Anyway, there *should* be a ban.txt file in the \main directory. And removing a banned player should be as easy as opening it up, searching for the players name, and deleting the line.

So are you saying you do not see a ban.txt file in the \main directory of the server?

Some FTP clients are better than others. I had the same problem. Can't remember where i found the solution. Could have been here or could have been iwnation's forums. Either way the solution was using SmartFTP rather than what I was using CuteFTP. Something to do with the client being able to see hidden folders on the server.

Specifically: there's a folder called ".callofduty". Note the dot in front of the name. The ban.txt file is in the following location: .callofduty/main/

Download here and it's free. http://www.smartftp.com

Well I use CuteFTP.. works fine for me. My provider has it setup so I remote directly into the /call of duty/main folder. In there I see a ban.txt.

If you can remote into the main folder, which is the same folder that has all your config files and stuff.. and you don't see a ban.txt.. maybe you could just create one and drop it in there, it is a txt file after all. It's completely empty when it starts out.

But, if you are able to ban someone currently and they stay banned, then my guess is, that ban.txt file is existing somewhere and likely somewhere you can not get to. A provider sets up what folders and stuff you can see. (keeps you from messing with stuff your not supposed to) I would ask them where it is.
