This week's webcast features our monthly roundtable summarizing the news in the CoD world. While everyone was out eating hotdogs and watching fireworks, our team of community leaders got together to bring you their views on what is going on in your favorite video game.
With us to share their wisdom are: Joe (Nabore) from Team Pandemic (http://teampandemic.net/); Jim (Rudedog) from fpsadmin.com (http://fpsadmin.com/); Michael (Garetjax); U-z-i Kidding and PST*Joker from mycallofduty.net (http://mycallofduty.net/) .

I have just listened to the pod cast, some interesting stuff there. Particularly interested in the view's about the competitive side of things. Something I used to be involved with as a player. As an admin to be honest I have always been put off by the overly complicated rules. Our clan want to get competitive but reading the rule sets just make your head spin. So fingers crossed the "ProMod" will take off in a big way, from my point of view one rule set works for me and my guys...
The total lack of interest in us PC gamers from most of the game makers and the publishing houses has become the norm these days. The massive amounts of money they made out of CoD:4 from the XBox, they may never make a PC game again LOL
The discussion did make me think, opened my eyes to a thing. It sort of hit the nail on the head for me. Every time a new version of a game comes out, everyone has to start again.
In other posts on this forum I have said that I like Valve, just not their games. I think that I have been missing the point. If I want what I think I want from a gaming, then I should take up Counter Strike again. Valve is the only company that can be trusted with all of the effort that we invest into all of this gaming.
The rest just want my money, they don't care that I put in hour after hour to support my clan mates. They don't care that I play hour after hour playing their games. The 40 hours a week I put in to MoH:BT before I became involved in running the clan, The hours each week put in to makeing sure that the guys in the clan have a good time that's problem free.
We ask for a little support, and we get so very little back. The publishing house I can understand needing to follow the money, but the game makers???
I think that here is a reason Valve has more active players than all of the others, and after that pod cast I think I now understand. It's not that they make the best games. It because their community's don't have to rebuild themselves over and over again. It's because they support their community's by supporting their product!
<rant-over> I think I will go out side and take in a few deep breaths, look up at the stars. Then go to bed, ready for another day of bashing my head againt this blood stained section of wall...
