402 just posted that they will be closing the charlieoscardelta.com forums down and moving the IW.com forums to a new IW.com forum system with a stream lined set of forums.I wanted to give you a heads up that the new InfinityWard.com will be soft-launching this weekend. Which means these forums will be replaced with the new Infinityward.com Forums as well as the rest of the site switching over. It's a soft-launch because we won't be publicizing the new site until June 23rd when Charlieoscardelta.com shuts down.
Hmm wonder what's going on, on the 23rd?One big change you'll notice is that the new forums will be much more simplified. There will only be three sections to the forums. Game Discussion, Studio Discussion, and Off-topic. No more dividing up everyone into platform specific cliques or dividing our community. It will help bring us all together and keep information in one place. That way, no matter what version of our games you're playing or what section you need help in, you can find the information your looking for in one section.
Wow, there's a bright idea, only three forums. I can see it now, PC + Xbox + PS3 = total kayos.
In addition to the new forums, the Community section will also have a blog. This will allow me to bring over a lot of the information you'd normally find at www.fourzerotwo.com (http://www.fourzerotwo.com/) to the official Infinity Ward site. So posts, videos, and other blog-related items about the studio or our game will now be at the Infinity Ward blog, as well as Fourzerotwo.com. (yes, I know www.fourzerotwo.com (http://www.fourzerotwo.com/) is not working right now, you can still visit it via http://iamfourzerotwo.com (http://iamfourzerotwo.com/) . There just seems to be a mixup with the domain I'm working out.)
Finally, he will be posting on the official site, instead of his personal blog.
Granted, IW.com's forums have turned into a kiddie fest, I can't wait to see what happens to them now... Someone send Joker and Razor some meds STAT! = Man are they going to need them.
