http://www.fpsadmin.com/gallery/main.php/d/4192-1/treyarch.jpgI've been called up and will be deploying to Santa Monica, California for a day at Treyarch. I and several others from around the Call of Duty community, will be gathering some covert intelligence regarding Activision's latest Call of Duty title - World at War.

I've also been told we'll be under embargo until an undisclosed date. Once said date is met, I will be posting as much info as we have gathered here at FPSadmin, RGN and over at TMT.

While I know some of you are not happy with going back to World War II, I'm personally very excited. It will also be very interesting to see how Treyarch will handle a very difficult setting, the Pacific. I was also part of the community sneak preview several years for Medal of Honor Pacific Assault at EALA.

I won't get into how MOH:PA was handled in general, but where that game took place and the weapons the enemy had at their disposal, this is was not easy for EA and it's not going to be easy for Treyarch .

These are all very hard things to overcome when trying to build an action packed FPS game, especially on the PC. It will be interesting to see what the latest CoD tech engine can do for Treyarch and the Pacific theater.

This closed door event will be held on Friday and I'll be on the red eye that night. Hopefully the embargo will be a short one and I can get as much info as I gathered into your hands for reading.* I'll also be tweeting any info I can from Twitter @therealRudedog (http://www.twitter.com/therealrudedog)

Have fun.

I also prefer ww2. Feels more satisfying when you get a kill without using a weapon firing a million bullets. Modern Warfare = Spray everything and get kills = no challenge.

What an opportunity to get in on the ground floor. I may be naive on these matters but it seems like Treyarch has got all the kettles cooking on this one and wants to knock this title out of the park by getting folks like rudedog in there early. Represent! Oh--and have a blast while you're at it. :D

With all due respect to Treyarch,

Myself, Major Woody (mod here - sorry olddog, we'll get you one to one of these), Matt from PMOH/PCOD and several others have been invited out before on titles: CoD4, MOH:PA and MOH:A.

They don't always turn out the way they are presented, with the exception of CoD 4: modern combat. Hell, that exceeded my expectations.

Any time azalin, I can't wait to spill the beans, there is so much to talk about.

I will say this, even if you're not interested in WWII, you should be blown away by what they have done!

A well designed browser you mean ;)

I hate seeing a good game with a poor server browser design.
