Well besides ServerWatch (which never fully worked) and CoDam (which doesnt co-exist with the PAM mod required by my ladder yet) what are my alternatives for in game messages now. Autokick doesnt work with 1.2. HLC doesnt have in game messages so I'm on the look for in game messeges.

I thought I saw Rude had upgraded his message program but when I go to the DL section I think the only one listed is for 1.1. So what other alternatives is there. I really don't need all the other admin stuff. I'm pretty happy with the HLC mod but I need my messages.

One thing here....

You should know that you can set SW to work without the log file.

And that you then can use it only for sending messages if that is what you like.

SW can allso send messages private to players so no other players see it exept the player the message are for.
So i cant get that you are not using the part you need from SW.
Seence you can use as match or litle as you like in SW.
Sw is the program that you can adjust best for you needs.

So do you need Logfile. then you use logfile.
if you dont need it. then just set it for no logfile.

You want to send messages... then only use it for messages.
You want high ping kick well then you desside if you need it or not.

I just cant understand that you are sitting and talking about why is nothing work for my need.
Well start use what you need in SW and just **** the rest of SW.
Then you have your messages.

That, might be my fault Momma. I will check the download section ASAP.

BTW, send me an email at jim@landi.net and I will send you a version of PAM 104a with message center included.

Cobra somehow I knew you would stick your nose in here. Bottom line.. as I have said before.. I wont be using your program... there is a lot of history there that made me come to that conclusion, but that's the bottom line. My question was BESIDES YOURS and CoDaM what are the other options. I know you can't understand it, so I've stopped trying to explain it to you.

Thanks Rude.. I will see if your message center for 1.2 is there now. Or maybe the one in there IS for 1.2 and I simply misunderstood.. it says version 1.0 so I thought it was the original...maybe not.
The only problem with using a PAM that has messages center in it, is how quick will it be updated as PAM is. They seem to like to throw them out there regularly. Anyway, thanks for the help.

I can wack you a little app together which allows you to generate a automessage list and spews them out over a given time period.
I wrote my own admin program which uses rcon and it has an editable list of messages. Give me a shout if you want a copy. :!:

Oh Rudedog, is there a switch in Message center to deactivate messaging on the fly?

Momma, I forgot to change the required version from1.1 to 1.2 my fault. . I have an email to the PAM author about some other upsetting comments the IW folks had over at iwnation in our server thread. He is more then welcome to incorporate my mod into his, or if they crank out an update, I can follow pretty quickly as adding my mod to his is very simple. I should throw together a guide

Sparty, if your ever need mirrors or a news blurb about your program just drop me a line. as for my message center, there is no way right now to disable the messages, on the fly.

My program Rcon4COD has a messaging section.

You can create upto 10 different Sets of messages with as many messages in each set as you like.
Some built in placeholders for Server Name, ServerIP:Port and Friendlyfire status.

You can have the messages cycling on a 1 to 10 minute timer, your choice.
Just Rcon to the server, start the message control and minimise, it will do the rest.

Version 1.2 can be found on www.codfiles.com or from my Rcon4Cod site HERE (http://www.simonj.brown.clara.net/rcon4cod)

Give it a blast. :!:

Thanks for the good suggestions. I would like to take this a step further, not that I actually HAVE to have this but it's just an idea for someone to play with.

Is it possible to schedule the messages then execute a config. So for instance if we were to have a clan match at 7:00 it could start saying " This server will be closing in x minutes for a clan match" and say that every so often.. then as the time approches.. it says "This server is closing to prepare for a clan match" several times.. then executes the match config.

This is something I usually do or one of my other admins.. but just thought it would be nice if the server could "ready-up" for practices and matches on it's own. Just a thought.

I'm sure it is possible. A long time ago, i asked Black Bart To incorporate a similar request (timed config executions) into MOHAACI, and he did it.
Surely this can be made for CoD too.

I would love to have a message center like this as well....

Look forward to seeing what can be put together...
