missing file

i tried to play cod4 today an it came up with an error that im missing folder

c:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\zone\english\code_post_gfx_mp.ff

this came out of no where im thinking of reinstalling but if i reinstall wont i lose my profile?

just save your players folder i believe, that has your profiles in it.

I had a similar error on a game server, which was caused when we went from 1.0 to 1.5 .. skipping all patches in between.

after re-patching the server in sequence, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 the error went away..
