I keep getting this error on my server.
Hunk_Clear: reset the hunk ok
invalid cvar name string: "
please can anyone help me as i have no idea why this is happening.

Can you cut and paste your entire server startup output here? It may help to see the whole thing...
Might be nice to see your entire server config as well; looks like the problem is there.

Hi, I sorted the other problem but now i am having trouble with the map rotation. i set my server by the config you have posted(just changing server name and map names) but it wont work. here are both the server startup and the config i am trying to use. many thanks for your help.

to me it looks like i have to have a folder in my main folder with all the maps in it.

Can't find map maps/mp/westwall.bsp
Either that map isn't installed correctly or that isn't the correct map name. If you're unsure of the correct map name open the .pk3 with winrar and browse to the mp/maps folder (iirc), you'll see the .bsp name there.
Also that's one hell of a list of maps you've got installed there. :o

Did IW fix the number of pk3 files you can have in your Main with the 1.2 patch?
Sac is right with his advice.... many custom maps aren't really named what they are in the XXXXXXXXX.pk3 name. Open up the pak and you'll find the correct map name for your map rotation.

Many thanks for your help, that was the problem, now i have another problem, when players join spme have to d/l my maps(even though they are not in the rotation). what is the cause of that?

Yeah they will. If you've got sv_allownownloads 1, and clients have cl_allowdownloads 1, they'll attempt to download every custom .pk3 you have installed. So it's a good idea to only have the maps installed that you're actually running.

I think you've got your games mixed up,some of those maps are MOHAA/Spearhead/Breakthrough maps,and are in the wrong folder.
They should be in the MOHAA/Main folder,not Call of Duty/Main. :o

Just one more question, is there any way of making the dead disappear quicker? i have looked at all the cvars listed in IW`s post and cant find anything.

It appears that there is a limit to the number of pk3 files in the main directory because when we are using a default map list with stock maps, the server will kick clients with the exact same message that is in the first post here if there are 20 pk3's. If we remove two of them by putting them under another directory, we can run the map rotation fine.
Are there any fixes for this? Is there a way to run maps from one directory below main so that we could put maps into that directory under main? I would like to be using custom maps, some of them are quite nice.

This was happening because i was trying to run my server as a pure one(noob), i didnt realise that if you don`t specify a value in your cvars it sets it to pure by default.

You can have a play with sv_zombietime. It's an old q3 cvar that still features in CoD. It's counted in minutes and the default value is 2.

Can you remember where you d/l Gloomcove from? I loved that map and would like to have the COD version to try it out.

No i can`t remember, i d/l so many, but if you goto my server i will put it on there and you can d/l it from there.
It is DM only though.

Tried to set it up on the server but the path is different, it is gloomcove/maps/DM/gloomcove.bsp instead of gloomcove/maps/Mp/gloomcove.bsp. Does this signify that it is a MOHAA map and if so why did some website have it as a CoD map(retorical question, answers on a postcard please).
