Hardware Requirements

Can someone tell me what the minimum/optimum system hardware requirements are for COD4?

This is from teh readme file:

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS:
CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 2.4 GHz or AMD(R) Athlon(TM) 64 2800+ processor or any 1.8Ghz Dual Core Processor or better supported
RAM: 512MB RAM (768MB for Windows Vista)
VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA(R) Geforce(TM) 6600 or better or ATI(R) Radeon(R) 9800Pro or better
SOUND CARD: 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
INTERNET: Broadband connection and service required for Multiplayer Connectivity

But i can tell you I've run on much lower specs... basically, If you were able to run cod2, you'll be able to run cod4.

Are the specs lower for a COD4 Dedicated Server? I know it runs in a console mode instead of a GUI

It depends on your OS i think. If your running linux you can drop some of the ram (i wouldnt go below 512). Windows uses more ram than linux.

Here are specs that should work

2.0 Ghz proc.
512 MB Ram
no sound needed
onboard video

I wouldnt go any lower than this for a dedicated server. A small dedicatd server at that. Also depends on other processes try limiting the number of background tasks for better performance.
