I'm no server host or map maker, but I have downloaded and installed many custom maps in my main cod folder. Every time I play on a new server which has custom maps I already have them or I automatically download them from that server. This is not the problem. The problem is that when I try to play the single player game the error message comes up pak sum/ name mismatch and I think it is do to the amount of custom maps and mods i have in the main folder. Also lately multiplayer has been sometimes choppy when i play even though i think that is just normal. What do you think is the problem and how can I fix it? Deleteing all the custom maps and reinstalling is the last option i want to take. I know it would probably work but I don't want to have to download all the maps over again.

P.S. I am running the new patch 1.2 which I know allows people to have custom maps and still play on pure servers. I just find it pretty odd that the single player is affected by modifying the multiplayer game. :(

Couple of things to check for,
Make sure all your custom maps and mods do not have any spaces in the file name Example (Custom map.pk3), always make sure you have a (-) or (_) in the file name (Custom_map.pk3).

Organize your custom pk3's!! Consider
z_custom_Map1.pk3
z_custom_map 2.pk3 (so on and so forth)
zz_bloodmod.pk3
zzz_my_custom_soundmod.pk3
zzzz_top-notch-Sniper_Scope.pk3

This will assure your custom pk3's load after the stock pack files. If you still have a problem, move all custom pk3's out of your main, and move each one back in, one at a time, start up the game, and see which one is causing you the problem.

The pak sum/ name mismatch is most likely a mod that is loading up before the pack files or you have a mod that is improperly named by having a space in it.
