How long does it take a Pure server/Linux to show up on the ingame list?

Also, what is the "X-Factor Mod" ?

The type of game " TDM,DM.RE...." how do you set your server to only run one type as opposed to roatating through all fo them?

What is the best Server Admin Tool, for working the server remotly?

I a want to be able to handle all aspects from my desktop.

I know..Newbie with lots of questions...Yer Right, but that is what this site is for correct?

Hi,

Your server should show up within a few minutes on the master server if you have everything setup correctly.

One gametype only? In your map rotation setting, just have one gametype listed like this:

This rotation will only play the TDM gametype on the maps listed. Adjust the "tdm" to "sd" or whatever depending on what you want to play (a couple maps don't support SD - beware).

As for remote control... I used to use Autokick but it doesn't support 1.2 at this moment. For the time being I'm using DivCon 1.0 which I believe is in this sites download area.

No idea what X-Factor Mod is.

I have a new prob for ya....lol

In the "In Game list" shows as a 32 player..

But when I try to connect to it I get
"Menu File not Found: ui_mp/ingame.txt, using default

What is that?

I have the max players set to 32 but only 14 show ?

What other file needs modded to make thai a 32 player server.

Still not showing up on the " In Game List "

It says " X-Factor " on the welcome screen to the game just priro to slecting sides and weapons.

Private client slots take away from the number of slots that will appear on some server browsers. It looks like you have private clients set to "2" so your server might show up as a 30 slot server. Not sure why its showing as 14.

X-Factor... is that a mod? What does your server startup output look like?

SimOps.... that ingame.txt is found in your pak0.pk3 file. What it does I'm not sure. Do you get that error from CoD or from ASE?

First off as far as I know the game should be listing 5 minutes after its been put up. Check this link from IW that refreshes every 5 minutes. If your server is not on this list than its not being seen.


The X-factor mod is a cool mod but the server that hosts is laggy and has no admins to ban the cheaters that are obviously aimboting it up...lol....The mod is cool as hell except that you dont drop health packs.....It plays a sound saying headshot everytime someone has been shot in the head....If you have 15 more kills than deaths it prints on screen that you are dominating and your score, and same if you have 22 more deaths than kills it says your suckin ass....lol....It has a pain sound mod, random sound effects, shellshock, youdrop your weapon if you get shot in the hand and you go prone if you get shot in the foot.

I asked X-factor if he could tell me what i needed to do to run it and he replied he will not offer help to anyone that wants to use his mod.....LMAO....Since I do know how to script it only took a little bit to mod his mod and put it on my server which has steady pings and NO LAG at all. Come test the mod out I have auto downloads on and I'm willing to offer any support to anyone that needs it.

I'm going to sleep now but when I wake up Im going to update the mod and put it on the server but for now you could enjoy the current one....... :lol:

Being on the master server list at http://inherent.infinityward.com/index.php doesn't necessarily get you to show up with the ingame browser. Our server has been on the IW master server list for a couple of weeks now but its hit and miss (mostly miss) whether I can find it in the ingame browser.
