can I make the team icons show up better?

Hiya all.

Does anyone know of a mod that allows the transparency of the teamate icons to be changed,

I am getting complaints from players with poor vision that since the patch, they cannot see the new ones, especially on snowy maps.

I want to modify them so that they are back to how they were before the patch.

Tell them to get used to the features of the new patch. It's there for a reason.

I don't myself have a problem, however I have 20/20 vision.
I also battle to see the icons from far , but hey this is quite realistic if you think about it.

It is however a problem for those with poor vision, and puts them at an immediate disadvantage.This is why we want to assist them.
This is for our pub server, our clan server will stay default for the moment

So would you suggest removing fog also? Maybe altering the uniforms? I'm sure they have problems due to those as well. They are all there for a reason. Most people with vision issues have something to correct it such as glasses, but there are those extreme cases where even that doesnt work. I believe, this percentage of people who play video games regularly that have very poor vision issues is relatively small. Just my opinion on that. The most complaints are going to come from people who simply do not want to try to figure out if they are about to shoot their own team mate. If you make concessions for every type of problem someone can have you will detract from what that feature was intended for. To invite a bit more realism into the game.

If u were on the field during WWII and hunting does German, will u ask them to draw a flag over there head, just to make sure they are not allies..???????

Fair comments but in my view, if servers want to run with more realism then they can turn OFF the flags.

If the flags are going to be allowed then make them more visible.

1.2 version are hard to see, 1.1 was fine.

I'm not saying I want the real thing. I'm saying they added it for a reason and people should get used to it rather than trying to turn it off. Playing with it the way it is you quickly learn to adjust.

I agree with MOMMA, the new avatars are what IW now wants and they are fine. However, should you wish to make them easier to view, you'll need to take the new avatart images, edit them with something like Adobe Photoshop (adjust the alpha channel) and create a mod (client-side). Another option is to edit the GT scripts and use a slightly different set of avatars (but they are not that good looking).
