cosole not working after patch update

Hi,
I am having some trouble with the console in the multiplayer mode. Since I updated to patch 1.3 and then 1.4, pressing the ~ key will not bring down the console. I even checked my config file (I haven't altered anything in it) and this is what it is set to: bind ~ "toggleconsole"

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

check your config again and look for
set sv_disableClientConsole "1"

Make sure it is set to "0"

Thanks, I tried that, but it wasn't even in the config file. Also, I forgot to mention that this problem isn't confined to just my server. No matter where I go or what I do in the game, I can't bring down the console.

Load up CoD4 then select options then select game options

You will see the console setting near the top right.

Make sure it is set to YES
