COD4 1.4 internet listing

Hey Does anyone know of any issues with a server not listing on the internet list? I have heard about keeping it off for an hour and then restarting it upon a version change so the master servers sees the change (or it as a new server) but I have one of two that just does not show up on the internet list and have the config fine (same as v1.3 and it listed then) any ideas??

and I have stopped it for an hours twice and still does not list but I can add it manually in my favorites and it is running

my servers are at 8.2.122.112 and 208.167.251.88 and I dont see either on my internet list although I think some can see one of the servers

Make sure you're checking http://stats.callofduty.com/ to see if your server is making it to Activision's master server list

As far as your master servers

the only one needed is cod4master.activision.com but even that is not needed.

Normally stopping (really shutting down) the server for 30 minutes should get it on the list. Another thing is to refresh the list 3 or 5 times to see if it's listed.

Instructions.

If your server isn't listed restart it
If your server is red you need to not set the protocol in your config files
If your server is blue you need to stop your server for at least 30 minutes and then restart

OK thanks guys, Both servers report in black that they are listed on the stats.callof duty web site you linked, but they don't show for me in the game. For me, this seems to be a ver 1.4 thing. From stock thru the various releases, this is the first time the server has dissappeared. When I did ver 1.3, I had to leave the server off for a bit, and when it was started, it showed. But ver 1.4 is hit or miss on if one of the 2 servers lists and the other one had never shown up for me. I of course have manually added them in the New Favorites, but it just doesnt show up on the internet list. Others have repoprted the same thing, and it is not a silly list filter thing ~ disturbing :(

funny enough i have the same problem with 1.4...

now the server is not showing on the ingame browser...although i can connect and play in it...

I see your server in the browser. If you still can't, make sure have internet chosen, no filter, refresh all and sort by name.

Sorry to dredge up a somewhat dated thread, but I'm hoping folks can help. I've done the requisite searches, and it doesn't appear as though there's a consistent answer to this problem.

I have a new CoD4 server running at: 208.76.220.2:28960. The stats page sees it OK, and shows it in black, which I assume means it's OK. http://stats.callofduty.com/?search_ip=208.76.220.2&=Submit. However, none of my clanmates (including myself) can see the server in our in-game browser.

If I add it to my favorites, then refresh my favorites, THEN refresh the Internet source, it shows up. But if I refresh the Internet source again, it vanishes. I have to repeat the process of refreshing my favorites, then refreshing the Internet source.

This is puzzling. And annoying. If it doesn't show up in the browser by default, no one will join it.

Of note (and perhaps this is related?) - None of the remote RCON tools can connect to the server for some reason. They keep saying there's no response from the IP, or that I must have the wrong IP, etc. But, my game console sees the rcon connection come in. Related in some way? Or two different issues?

Aside from the browser and RCON issue, the server itself works great. People can connect and play easily enough, assuming they see it in-game.

I can provide any config files, etc, that might aide in diagnosing this. Any ideas?

Nope. It's a stock/default server.

how long is your server name?

Ours use to be "^1=|HC|= ^7HARDCORE ^3Bullets, Beer & Boobs server! ^1 all game modes HIGH POINTS!!"

Then I chopped it down to "^1=|HC|= ^7HARDCORE ^3Bullets, Beer & Boobs server" and it shows up everytime.

Try taking out the mster servers from your config. Then launch the server you dont need to add master servers it does it automatically. Maybe it will help not sure.

I have not been able to ever see one server and have just cancelled it, giving up. For me, this was a version 1.4 thing. I have had it off for over an hour, removed everything as far as master server naming and it shows up as a good server on the utility posted up the thread but I have only seen one of my servers once, and the other I never have. I did not have this issue from version 1.1 or 1.2 or 1.3 but no joy for 1.4

I have also had this issue with COD2 and CODUO over the years and still have a COD2 and COD UO server that I can not ever find on the internet list. Regular COD seems to do well

Nope, unfortunately that didn't help either. In fact, nothing appears to help. There has to be something I'm doing incorrectly. How is it that all these other servers show up but mine won't?
