I'm attempting to get our server back up since the new patch release. I downloaded the server patch onto our dedicated box. Once I double-click to install, it tells me that the file has been tampered with and/or corrupted and I cannot install. I deleted it once and re-downloaded it with the same results. It is on our desktop...what am I doing wrong. Some kind of readme would have been nice...

We are also experiencing issues like above with the new 1.2 dedicated server patch. Anyone have any light to shed on the issue?

NOTE: We recommend that you uninstall any existing versions of the
MOHA Dedicated server before setting up the standalone dedicated server.
1) Download the latest Dedicated Server standalone package.
2) Run the self extracting archive file and extract contents to a folder
of your choice.
3) Visual Studio 2005 redistributable package must be installed if it is not already in order
to run the server. You can find it in Redistributable/vcredist_86.exe under the folder you extracted
the standalone server.
NOTE: The Visual Studio 2005 redistributable needs to be installed on
the machine running the Remote Console (rcon) too, for the rcon tool to work.
4) If you want to use Punkbuster on your server, you need to install it
using Punkbuster/pbsetup.exe under the folder you extracted the standalone server.
5) To run the server, you can use /UnrealEngine3/Binaries/DSLauncher.exe. After the
first time you create the configuration files using DSLauncher, you can run MOHAServer.exe
with commandline parameters described in this readme.
Here's what I did. This is still going to be a pain....step by step :)
All done on home PC, same as the last time...
Since this new server can be installed anywhere, I made a new folder on my F drive called Moha12.
I had downloaded the new server zip file to my F drive as well so I right clicked it and extracted it to F:\moha_ds_update1_2. In there I ran the setup file and instead of using the default (program files, electronic arts, etc), I clicked BROWSE and installed it to the F:\Moha12 directory I made earlier. It installed there fine.
Now here's the trick, and why apparently this had to be done on my home pc...
The readme file I posted above says to delete all your old server files. I didn't do that part yet. It said to run the DSLauncher.exe in the binaries directory so I found it in the new installation, and ran it. I got an error...
The error was that it couldn't update the user configuration file. Remember, I hadn't deleted my old stuff yet, but I did make my cfg read only on the last update.
What it did was try to over write the cfg file "my documents\EA Games\Medal of Honor Airborne)tm)\Config\MOHADedicatedServer.ini file" which means (to start) you can not just install it on a server and go if you are going to be using a different directory structure like they said you could.
So...
Back up then delete all your old cfg files from that directory. Install the new server in any directory you want. Run the dslauncher.exe and let it make new configs in that same old directory we aren't supposed to have to use, then take that new cfg and compare it to your old one, make whatever changes you like and give it a name.
I called mine Server.cfg and saved it to that F:\Mohaserver12 directory.
The next step is to install Punk Buster (if you are going to use it). Use the pbsetup.exe file in the PunkBuster directory and "add game". Guide it to your newly installed binaries directory and tell it to update.
Now the crap part...Get on your server and delete it's files. Upload all the new stuff.
On your server, make a shortcut to start the game and run your cfg file. The instructions are at the bottom of the readmeserver.txt file in the new server directory called "wherever you installed to\support".
The shortcut you make will be something like this:
F:\Mohaserver12\UnrealEngine3\Binaries\MOHAServer. exe -configfile="F:\Mohaserver12\Server.ini"
Of course, it will be different based on your directories, config names, and your ip/port gets put in there as well.
Make sure you read that readmeserver.txt file!!!
Anyway, this is one way to get your server going with the new stuff if you can't get the zip unzipped and installed directly on your server.

Someone on the EA forum posted this. Sure sounds easier than what I did...
We had the same problem our solution was ...
right click the .exe then select run as then use your login name and password you use to log into the dedicated box.
hope it works for you

Our dedicated box is through Hypernia. I tried doing the right - click, run and using username/password. That didn't work for me.
Hypernia ended up finding a rar fle for the server files. I used that, replaced the existing files by overwriting them and ran dslauncher to modify the server to add new maps and boosted players cap. Then launched it with the server exe file. It works. What a pain...no one makes it easy anymore do they?
