Overview
Conquest TDM is a server-side mod that incorporates classic Conquest TDM with some of the objective aspects of other gametypes, resulting in a tug-of-war style TDM game that provides more intense and varied gameplay than regular TDM. Conquest is server-side only, meaning players do not need to download this mod to play it on your servers, and it can be used with sv_pure on. Playing Conquest TDM requires maps built to take advantage of this style of play and those maps will require a client download. Conquest does not work with the stock maps that ship with Call of Duty. The first map to use Conquest TDM, Gun Assault, will also be released very soon so watch for the annoucement.

Player Info
Conquest TDM (CNQ) is basically a combination of classic Team Deathmatch and Spearhead's Tug Of War game type. In Conquest, each team still has the ultimate objective of out-killing the other team. But now there are intermediate goals as well. Objectives have been added to the mix, and having objectives to fight over really causes the action to heat up! Each objective will move your spawn points forward towards the enemy base, while losing an objective will cause a retreat of your spawns to your own base. A Conquest map can have any number of these objectives, and each team must take the objectives in order to advance your spawns and push the enemy back. Pushing your enemy all the way back to their base pins your opponent down since they can't retreat any further, or it could even result in bonus points for you or your team by reaching bonus objectives! Taking objectives not only gives each team something to fight for in the short term, but it can also serve to further the ultimate goal of winning the match by providing points and killing opportunities for your team!

Mapper Info
What maps are good candidates for Conquest TDM?

Maps that cam be set up to be somewhat linear in nature tend to work best with this gametype. Unlike the stock maps and gametypes, Conquest maintains a concept of Attacker/Defender sides to the map, rather than the circular nature of the stock maps. Maps that fit this profile tend to be excellent candidates for Conquest TDM, and the bigger the map the better it works. Huge maps are perfect for Conquest, because the objectives and spawn logic tend to keep the teams in somewhat close proximity and the battle heated, so the battle can flow over a massive landscape while the teams fight to push each other back. No matter how big or how few/many players, the battle is always close by and intense as objectives are fought over.

What does it take to make a Conquest TDM map?

For mappers, making a map compatible with the CNQ gametype is similar in effort to making your map compatible with Search and Destroy (SD) and Retrieval (RE) gametypes. A few specific entities must be placed to allow for switches and spawns must be labeled properly to match up with the objectives, and an attibute is placed on spawners to indicate which side and which objective it's linked to.

What special features are available to mappers?
Conquest TDM offer hooks into the game logic, so that when the game logic determines that one team has reached it's objective, you optionally script your own animations, effects, sounds, etc based on how YOUR map should work. This gives great flexibility for mappers to be creative in their designs.
