What is this server timed out crap????????

ok trying to join our server and it is constantly going server timed out even when empty any ideas if it's a setting prob or a server / program problem.

If you mean the connection timer that runs up to 10 and then times out. Rather than bringing up the console and typing 'reconnect', change your multiplayer config file.

Go to your COD4 install folder/players/profile/yourname

Open the config_mp.cfg file with a text editor and insert the following line :-

seta cl_connectionAttempts "40"

Most connections will complete before getting to 30, I used 40 as an example, some may want to insert 60, it's your choice.

The only issue with setting it that high is that you can't escape out of it once the timer is started so if you don't connect you're stuck sitting there for 40 seconds. I use 20 and then if needed simply type /reconnect.

Just a minor point. IW needs to fix the master server issues. There's been issues even since the original COD.
