Matt posted a new poll over at his site, PMOH
We've published a new poll asking, "If EA promised multiple patches and released an objective mode, would you support Airborne?" You can vote right here (http://planetmedalofhonor.gamespy.com/sympoll/index.php?dispid=14) or simply venture over to the right sidebar.
While I could say, if EA produced a great game that was actually a working product out of the box (MP side) ,which included all the promises then yes, I think many of us would have supported this game.
However, until EA explains to many of us what the hell happened and why they released the game in the condition they did, without any spin, I'll hold judgment. Why, mainly because by the time the game is in working order, I could have picked it up for about a third of what I paid for it.
You can only keep promising things for so long, you have to actually deliver before we will ever trust EA or the so called MOH team again.
You can read my preview of Medal of Honor Airborne before it was released, here (http://www.fpsadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12959). I've been blacklisted by EA because of this preview, which to this day is about 98% accurate - go figure.
I think most major clans have moved onto cod4 and the game has been forgotten. They should just take all that effort and start from scratch and give us something that we wanted in the first place. I think some of the guys still hoping for it, need to realize EA just ruined the mohaa series.

If they promise to patch it up and get it working like its supposed to be... then we will hang with it. Far to often I hear people mentioning COD4 and how everyone is playing it etc. I personally don't care for COD4 and I have never liked any COD of the series. I give COD good graphics, good style, etc but the actual multiplay is to random as I have stated before. I can only take COD with a realism mod and thats it. Its a game where skill is not everything and sometimes skill means nothing when it decides to repeatedly rob you of a kill. I am talking sneaking up on someone... shooting them point blank and some how missing.... COD and COD2 was horrbile for that. COD4 is a bit better but still the same ole Quake 3 engine...
MOH AB is a weak release but the potential is there. Graphics are great... gameplay is great.. weapons and sounds are great.. for me the Airborne aspect is good and being skilled actually shows. I thought MOH AA was not that great in terms of graphics and multiplay. Then came along Spearhead and my marriage was on the rocks because my wife tried to pry my hands from the keyboard.
EA sucks... but unfortunately the only way to get my MOH fix is by sticking with them. If only a good company would pick the title up. Just not activision.. I would hate to go back to a quake 3 engine. I still can't get over EA hacking up the UT3 engine.... what a stupid idea.

I hear both of you. While I want(ed) Airborne to succeed I have no faith in EA after what they gave us with this release out of the box.
If they do release another MOH game, you bet there better be a MP demo before the game ships.
Again, many of us could have waited and saved 30+ bucks (US) for when or if they finally get it right.

Lets say they do what htey are saying.
How long you think this is going to take them to finish.
Don't forget they still have a ton and I mean a lot of bugs to fix.
So I don't see it happening soon.
By then the next generation of games will be out.

^^ 2nd that.
I gave up on the series long ago (after the bugfest of PA to be honest)
SP of this game is not worth playing because the AI hasn't been improved since AA (still spawning right in front of you, everything way too scripted, ...). MP could 've been good if they had more maps and decent player support from the beginning.
Face the facts EA... you ruined the best series ever!

WOW, i must say what a great strategy on matt's part, keep whoever are left in the MoHA commnity hanging on that little longer. lol EA are a joke...i bet they have no intention of releasing multiple patches and an objective mode....and so what if they did, i personally will have my face glued to my monitor playing CoD4 SnD.
MoHA is dead, there are probably more people playing the original mohaa atm and all those that are left waiting for these miracle 'make moha 100x better than it is now' patches, should take there heads out of there asses and go and buy cod4. :)
Srry bout the rant, but it cheeses me off to see EA are still pulling shit like this.

There is a very limited community to support this title. I have serious doubts that one would rise out of the ashes at this point in time. I bought it, I want to play it, and I'll support it .... but realistically I don't see where this is going. They are being so generous by throwing 2 more SP maps into the MP arena .... big fat whoop.
I'm back to modding/playing on my teams Breakthrough server and having a blast with Team Fortress 2 (silly fun). I have no use for COD4 .... and I just picked up BF2 to play the WW2 mods.
My clans first game was MOH, and I was a huge fan of it. But the way they have treated us as of late, just leaves me with one question.... Why are we still talking about Airborne??
should take there heads out of there asses and go and buy cod4. :)
Can't say it any better than that.......

I wonder if this is just a pipedream on PMOH's part. I can't imagine EA allowing the dev team for AB any more time on it. It's not like spending the time it's going to take to fix it is going to sell any more copies for EA. It could serve to possibly bring a few lost customers back for the next title down the road though I guess.
They made their quick money on AB. I'm using mine as a coaster on my computer desk and I have to say it works great. I like leaving coffee stains all over it every day. It somehow makes me feel warm and fuzzy.
The kids had it for a while but I decided to keep it close as a constant reminder to never get my hopes up again for another EA release. I remember the year leading up to the release of PA with all of those awesome looking television commercials that they ran. My entire clan couldn't wait for it.
You would have thought that we would have all learned our lessons from Pacific Insult.
I will cut to the chase here. I voted "no" and here is why:
When you have a community member who has done and supported the Medal of Honor series games and is in my opinion a "piler" of this community who gave his "honest" opinion and views of the game to be just blacklisted.
Rudedog didnt lie, beat around the bush or kiss that butt just to make brownie points. He gave his his honest opinion, views and reports of the game as it was then and now. He was honest, he said it to your face and most importantly he didnt do all this behind anyones back with a knife.
To blacklist him for being a honest guy just shows what EA and some others at PMOH is all about. Sorry but thats the real deal. It wasnt just EA who stabbed Rudedog, it was some others at PMOH. Sorry but Airborne is a dead game. To even think of bringing it from the dead will require a total over-haul of the game itself.
First thing EA would need to do is strip the pc version of all the console bullcrap and then go from there. The game needs so much work and xmas is just around the corner and I do not see it being patched to where it should have been from the word go.
Its too late for Airborne, it just is.
Medal of Series is R.I.P., it had a good run and Allied Assult was the kicker. Too bad EA and crew couldnt get it right with this one. Thats what happens when corp greed comes into play.
Too bad EA had to pull the politicly bullcrap like they did. Too bad EA too bad. You all should have listened to the community instead of your wallets.

Do not feel to bad about being blacklisted...I blacklisted EA and the MOH series after wasting $60.00 for the lack luster out of the box multiplayer. My copy of the games has gone the way of my copy of Pacific Assault, packed away collecting dust...:)

I honestly don't understand how you feel MoH:AB is a better game than CoD4 ? I would have said that a month before release of either title, but after playing both, CoD4 BLOWS MoH:AB AWAY!!!! I would only agree partially with your post. CoD2 was a console game and yes there were issues with hit detection because it was designed as a console game first and formost. The only problem with hit detection in CoD4 is with snipers and that has been solved in the upcoming patch soon to be released. I too was a die-hard MoH'er but things change, not that they gave me much choice either. Companies screw with you and tell you all the goodness and stuff and then release a piece of shit to the unsuspecting public that obviously did not read Rude's assestment of the game and then realize EA pulled a fast one on EVERYONE, well everyone except Rude, LMAO! MoH:AB is not the funnest thing out there now, maps are too small for any more than 12 people. I want to be able to play with my whole team (32+) and 12 is not even close. In CoD4 I can and do, and we are all having a great time. We even joined the CEVO Tourney and we are all having a great time with it, 1-1 :)
The MoH Team is in my opinion is "inept" and a "laughing stock", how else could anyone else look at them without saying "what the F were you thinking dudes". Would you hire anyone of them to you're development team, not me thats for sure. I could and did accept the bumbling of MoH:PA (Although I posted my views towards it) and I lost alot of confidence in them, but still forgave them in the end. To err is human, so they made a big mistake with PA. Time passes....the Dev team asks for help and suggestions on AB (most where basic and standard today) from the community that cares about the MoH franchise and others, but then use none of it. Do you really think they care ? Do you really think they are really worried about anything but the god almighty bottom line. I have seen the light and the light is OUT at EA and this title proved it. I don't and won't buy anything from anybody sight unseen again, trust is earned not simply granted.
Max, you can hope and pray but all its going to get you is is what they delivered to you to begin with "squat". Life is too short waiting on a hope and a prayer...while you are waiting, I will be having some fun with my team, my friends playing CoD4 because they at least listened and delivered a quality title, something EA has not done in many, many years.....is it perfect, not yet, but they are working on it and it is totally playable for a majority if not most in the community. For them to do any justice to MoH:AB it would have to be re-made from the ground up, scratch, you can't patch a really bottched job with patches because they already hacked the crap out of the engine as it was for the console.
I voted NO, I live, I learn...now I have fun and play elsewhere, over in Activisions backyard. There they at least have toys that work :)

I agree with a lot of what has been said.
I love MoH. So do a lot of people. I was hooked on the original playstation game and only bought a PC because of MoHAA multiplayer. I ran a server after reading the guides on MoHAdmin. I've played it most days since.
Airbourne has been a disaster. We waited for so long for so little. The foundations for a great game are there but the thing was obviously rushed out unfinished. I don't know why, they would have been better off finishing it and waiting for the Christmas market.
I think EA are going to want to sell expansions but know that nobody is going to buy it at the moment so maybe that's why they are talking up the patches.
I hope they do fix it but I think it's too late. COD4 is the game of the year Airbourne should have been.
Sure, COD4 is Q3 but Q3 is a proven engine and if EA had used it they could have focused on the more important gameplay issues that they didn't get time for.
PS. Thanks for all your work, rudedog.

I understand how everyone feels about EA.. believe me.. look at some of my posts early on. I wanted blood after Airborne was released and I saw what crap we got stuck with. I say we (My clan) will stick it out mainly because regardless of EA fixing it or not we will still be a clan and playing something. We don't have all of our eggs in one basket. Our clan and most of its remaining members are just too hooked on WWII FPS games and the MOH series.
As far as COD4 goes.. I bought it.. played it and I'm not impressed. Its back to the same ole ranks BS that EA started with BF2. A game that makes people want to rank up for an advantage.. New guys just buying the game are really going to be pissed faceing all the Generals with all the unlocks.. How unbalanced can you get? To me fun multiplay is equal ground... So COD4 does nothing for me. Hardcore mode is hardly hardcore and you have to be unranked to really make the server hardcore and then most people have no interest in playing since they can't use their GAY perks and weapon unlocks for an advantage over someone else.
I'm sure that a lot of people enjoy COD4 and thats good, but its just not my style and I'm not waiting for MOH Airborne to be fixed.. I am just playing other stuff until it is and if the latest patch sucks.. then I keep playing Company of Heroes! Also. we host COD4 and our server is full almost 24/7 and thats great news when hosting.. As far as hit boxes go.. there is more weapons that need improvement and some detuned. FOr example... the SAW. I used it from day one.. and was expert in a day or two.. It was more accurate less modded. Now I end up running out of ammo constantly with it because it takes waayyyy to many hits to drop someone and thats with Stopping Power and Penetrator and all kinds of mixed up perks. My saw according to the specs is almost 90% accurate... and yes it is... but takes 6-8 hits to drop anyone. I'm just not impressed and most of my crew see what i am talking about in terms of randomness.. One minute you are unstoppable and each shot registers and things are great.. the next its like shooting rubber. I play it.. but I just don't care for it.
One last thing so there is no confusion.. I by no means endorse EA. EA can blow me. I spent the money on the game and if they fix it I will play it. So don't misinterpret my comments. I don't know Rudedog but I have read many of his posts and agree with most if not all. I think being blacklisted is stupid but personally it wouldn't bother me a bit I would care less... By the way Rudedog do you ever read your PM's or do you just see my name and skip to the next? LOL.. I deleted the one I sent you months ago on EA and Airbornes flop.
The ranks in CoD4 and BF2 ranking does not even compare, it takes you in cod4 two week apr. to rank up to commander and in BF2 it takes FOREVER just to get one level up if you dont play everday and are in the higher rankings., i play now and then and its been a year since i ranked up in BF2 ( I dont play often anymore)
The servers will be in the future all unranked because everyone is leveled up, I think it was a cool additive to the game personally. Plus its not that hard to rank up even fast if you know what awards need to be won.

Yes this is true.. I think thats why stat padding in BF2 got out of control. Funny thing. I play COH and since their latest release of OF (Opposing Forces) I have a similar dilema going on as with Airborne. Relic spending to much time on trying to stop software pirates and not enough time on the game itself. The game is almost unplayable. Crashes on people constantly. Lots of people. The latest patch was a flop and was pulled. Just one thing after another.
I just think a lot of these developers have lost site of PC games and worry to much about consoles and profits. I think its a trend and its only going to get worse unless the PC community speaks out and has the numbers to back it up. It can hurt to speak out and run off. Example. Everyone up in arms against EA. Well if they step up to the plate and fix everything.. what good did it do if the masses ran off? Put EA under.. not likely.
Oh well.. I think I will play a game of Chess or something. Playing games online is getting to be too difficult anymore and like a job.
