I was looking about for a server to play a bit of Sabotage, found one with 8 peeps on it and prepared for some fun. Hmmmm. My first clue that all was not well, 8 players 3 playing, 5 spectating. Never mind I'll join the single players team and lets go!. Except, the next thing I see on text is "does anyone mind going to the middle so I can blow them up with some C4?". I confidently expect someone to tell him that thats not the way its done, but no!, someone arranges to meet him there and get blown up as long as they can then complete one of their challenges against him.......
Is this why I meet so many uber ober generallfieldmarshall types on the servers that seem to have, to coin a phrase "All the gear but no idea?"
Oh well, I guess I'll just keep looking :D

These type of things are the only reason I agree with how EA runs their "ranked" servers where they have some say in the rules of a server. However that is the only reason. I find it funny when I see a 4/5 star general at the lower half of the score board when the game is over.

I was in testing a new server the other day and I forgot to make it private. I had some kid come in and ask if I wanted to go challenges? He wanted to take turns getting head shots with various weapons and was quite excited about it. I told him no and then he asked if when I was done if I could not log off so he could just shoot me over and over.

What's the fun in stat padding? I don't get the rush to lvl 55. A large part of the fun that I'm having right now is all of the new unlocks and ranks that pop up while playing. It's awesome fun when you get two or three things as once.

Agreed mate, we had a sabotage game on our server that just kept going, half the fun is logging off at the end of the night to find out how much you've unlocked and what progress you made. The only 'problem' we are having is deciding that its time to go......and then finding out that we only need 250 more points!!!, ho hum, another late night then :)

Ranking up has been interesting and fun but I look forward to the community getting past this novelty and migrating towards unranked game play.

I hate the "rank" systems as there are always people who cheat their way around the system to rank up faster. A clan in COD 4 can simply pw their server and have their way with it to rank up. What's the point ?

although ranks are interesting I would rather just paly and see what i gt as i go along. The buzz is playing as a team and enjoying if they want tostat pad then great i am sure we will all be impressed with their rnk expecially when we constantly mow them down or will the rounds against them.

Enjoy the game and forget these stats guys like some one said i get a buzz ingame when I hear i reached a rank or beaten a challaenge without even knowing I was doing it!1

Whatever became of playing the game to enjoy yourself?

I love the rank system. it gives a new perspective to the game. I am now level 55 all through normal gaming, But now I have started to filter through my unfinished challenges to make it more interesting. This is proving difficult to do on most games as I now regularly come in the bottom part of the scoreboard as i concentrate on completing the challenges more..
I have hardly touched the sniper gun challenges at all yet, I will save them for last.:D

How True Mike. Why Do they have to cheat to have some fun. I will never understand that.

I've also been asked about stat padding with someone and refused. It is too bad game companies feel the need to make their games have ranks (as fun as it is ranking up) and don't just make them for ppl to have fun playing anymore. I think many, many ppl have actually forgotten the "fun" in gaming and only play for the "rank".
At least this way it gives us ppl to bust for trying to cheat (although it's too bad we have to put up with those cheaters).

Two people were on our server when one of our admins joined. He was promptly asked by one of them to leave so they could play 1 on 1 and meet challenges and rank up. Needless to say it was they who left - for good.

The ranking thing is ok. I have completed the ever challenge on PC and PS3 apart from the airborne one of shooting two people in mid air. Can't seem to do that one no matter how hard I try, which to be honest is not very much.

The challenges are easy to do if you just play the game for fun, most of them are luck anyway once you are doing the elite ones. As for weapons challenges they are easy just play the class for while and bingo you are done in time.
