Punkbuster Update Troubles

Yesterday, PB sent out an update which totally F***** up my server. It has been empty ever since. It caused the server to disconnect as soon as 2 players were on. The GSP has advised me to disconnect PB until the issue has been fixed.

Did anyone else experience this issue? Has PB fixed it yet?

No they haven't. One server is crashing with a standard pbsv.cfg...the other had connection problems all day and killed the server. I didn't even try to the standard .cfg with it as I was concerned of it crashing too.

I got this from my GSP:

If you are experiencing a problem staying connected to your
CoD4 server there is a patch available in the GCP that should
fix the problem.

Be warned this fix will overwrite your existing pbsv.cfg and pbsvlog.cfg
Please backup these two files if you want to keep them. The new files
will be blank. There is a command or set of commands that are causing
PB to kick you off of the server. We're investigating what the command(s)
might be but we do this will fix the issue.

It is available in the Game Updates section of your server(s) in the GCP.

Can we all go stomp on Evenbalance? Who's with me?

restart your server and try again. I have seen 3 servers (all on one box) so far that does this after the new PB server update.

We cut our pbsv.cfg back to merely the messages and our servers are running fine.

What is with Evenbalance lately? They have totally messed up servers twice in a very short span of time.

I stopped streaming my server to Pbbans.com, and also scaled back my pbsv.cfg file to messages only and server has had no problems. Punkbuster needs to get their shit together.

A new server version was released (1.478) to fix this issue I believe. EvenBalance posted the following about the issue before the 1.478 release.

We have a new PB server available for admins to test that may help with this issue. It is available here:
