View Full Version : unable to make MP game in COD4

hi.


I try to sett up a internett game in COD4, but when i sett it up in the MP COD4 and press start i go out to windows and get up a console. then nothing happens.. what is this, and how do i solv this problem ?

I run vista 32bit and latest drivers installed.

i dint understand that. aint it possible to enter the game and just create a internett game ?

i dont use a "standalone" server pc to create a server.. i just want to be able to creat a regular internett game so i can play with my friends there :S

believe it or not, the server is running. the console you see is there because you set it to be dedicated to lan or internet. for others to see it you must open the default 28960 port on the firewall/router if you have any
see portforward.com for help with port forwarding on routers

I dont know anything about those things :P im not that into this computer world :P

in other games u can just press create internett game or something like that and the game appear on other peoples server list.. why aint this game like that??

insane making it so difficult to make a server :S gives this game a minus point for that :S


and i know it can be me being a complete fool :P hehe. but i dont have so much experience about these things.

Start your game. Second selection down it says "Start a new server" Clik that and it will alllow you to create a server while you are playing. This is known as host and play. You will be playing in the server you created. Others will be able to join you as well as long as you don't have a firewall or router blocking access.

i have tryed to sett up a game using "dedicated, no " that works. but peoples cant see my game.
Then i suppose it`s a firewall or router problem?
Anyone know how i fix that problem a easy way ? :P

Easy...afraid not. See portforward.com for starters, as romeozor stated, above. You'll have to know what kind of router or firewall you have. You can also see http://www.olddogvt.net/cod-firewall ... something I put together for CoD, CoDUO, and CoD2 quite awhile ago.
