I have a problem starting a dedicated cod4 server. Actually two similar problems:
the first problem is that my server has an old 8Mb graphics-card. Since I run a dedicated server it should not be a problem (It ran a dedicated COD2 server without any problem). BUT, starting a dedicated cod4 server will give a short full-screen black window (at least it does if I start a dedicated server on my gaming computer). The graphics-card obviously does not support this and the game crashes to the desktop. Is there any way to start a dedicated cod4 server without having to have a directx 9 graphics card in a server (which I think is a bit a waste of money)
the second problem is that I want to be able to start the server using remote desktop (as I did with COD2). RDP does not support directx. COD2 did not need directx to start a dedicated server (I can't think of a reason why it should need it) but cod4 apparently does. So is there a way to disable directx while starting a dedicated server?
