Debian Linux PPC: "cannot execute binary"

HI, I'm fairly new to being a serveradmin and Linux. Have tried it on windows xp and 2000 and could get it all to work fine.
Am now trying to get it working on Linux. The following is my problem.

I have Linux (Debian) installed on a G4 Mac. Did a clean fresh install of CoD, patched and all, but if I try to run the cod_lnxded I get the following: "cannot execute binary file"

Could it be that the binary is not suitable for Linux PPC or is it that I'm doing something wrong?

to say that I have already set the permissions to 755 (for all files just in case) and it is as user and as root that this happens.
