i asked this over at IW forums but got no reply, so I am hoping someone here can help.

I'd like ot make some CoD videos in multiplayer, but I want to disable the hud and enable free spectate.

I've tried: set scr_spectatefree "1" but it still locks the spectator, my question is this because its ranked?

Also I'd like to disable all chat, playernames etc on my screen, does anyone know the cvars to do this? Thanks

I managed to get free spectate working i didn't realise you'd also have to have the enemy spectate on, but i guess it makes sense.

However still can't see how to disable player names, or obj icons.

Take a look info iw_00.iwd with an unzip tool. There's a bunch of configs in there that the devs use for testing etc. A few that stick out:

demo.cfg
developer.cfg
developer_mp.cfg

sv_cheats 1 might be needed for some of these -- if that works in COD4.
