I banned 2 guys last night and they kept coming back. In the server's concole, i typed:
banuser playersname
it kicked them from the server, but they came right back in. I even tried banclient #, which kicked them, but again, they still came right back into the server. I also checked the ban.txt file and it did list\ thier names. Has anyone else had this problem? and doesn't anyone know what i'm doing wrong?

Here's the deal.
1. Users with names that contain spaces in the middle or after the name, need to have their names in quotes. So...
/rcon banUser "Blah Blah" or /rcon banUser "Blah " <--- for those real jerks that add a million spaces after their name as to not be kicked/banned.
2. I don't even use the banUser command, I use the banClient. So...
/rcon banClient 13 <---- much more simple.
The key to the banClient is that you need to have a working '/rcon status' Now if your's doesn't work. Then try this.
/bind = "rcon status" <---this command fixes issues that occur sometimes with /rcon status not returning the status. And the '=' key is my key of choice you can choose any key you want.
3. After either of these commands are issued successfully, the offender will be immediately kicked from your server. You can see this message on the bottom left of your screen. That will tell you if you entered the command correctly.
Hope this helps.

Yea, one of the first things I did was to test this new feature for AAN when they patched their server. It worked like a charm (banclient). Player would try to rejoin and would get the msg "You have been permanently banned."

well, i did see where the user was kicked. and in the ban.txt file, it listed their names. but i'll give it a try with quotes around there name next time.
