While we had contacted EA in regards to the letters everyone was receiving. EA's comment was that the game was not released and would not unlock, only preloaded. With that said, and the way EA has been batting 1000 lately, some lucky individuals who pre ordered did in fact get the game unlocked.
Now, as we all know, this game is on most people's wish list, thus it seems to have made the trackers and usenet groups already. However several other sites, are reporting that these are bad and corrupt files, one with a nasty little surprise waiting for you.
EA states that the game will still ship and unlock on the 16th of Nov., which is about this Friday.
