http://www.fpsadmin.com/gallery/main.php/d/3704-1/cod4.jpgWith the release of Call of Duty 4 upon us in three very short days, IW has already started posting some very useful information.

Here is just a sample of the info already available: Stock Un-modded Server Options (these can not be modified if you wish to run a ranked server):

Start Server Options:
• Game Mode
• Dedicated
o No
o LAN
o Internet
• Max Players (1-32)
• Min Ping
• Max Ping
• Voice Chat (Yes / No)
• Auto-Balance Team (Yes / No)
• Map Voting (Yes / No)
• Punkbuster (Yes / No)
• Map

Game Mode Settings:
• Old School Mode: Enabled / Disabled
• Hardcore Mode: Enabled / Disabled
• Spectating: Team Only / Free / Disabled
• Killcam: Enabled / Disabled
• Friendly Fire: Enabled / Shared / Reflect / Disabled

Team Deathmatch Settings:
• Score Limit
• Time Limit

Hardware + Bandwidth Requirements
Bandwidth and server resource usage should be lower than that of COD2 in most situations, but it is not guaranteed. There are some situations where bandwidth usage may spike, and the server will get hit harder than usual. Generally, if you're capable of hosting a COD2 dedicated server you should be just fine for COD4.
This is just a very small sample of what has already been released by IW, click the following links for more info.- click here (http://www.fpsadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13442) to view server sided options

No kidding. At first I thought EA screwed the servers because they wanted to connect XBox and PC without going through M$ Xbox live. Now I understand that even that is not a reason for the 12 or even 16 player limit. EA needs to break itself up into more independant units that can run closer to the real world experience of their customers. The suits are just too far removed from reality to effectively run that company any more.

I know:confused: its hard to believe that IW is going all out, really kinda funny because IW was the same as EA has been, glad to see some company out there listens to the gaming public and even adds extras to it in the process :)

Kudo's IW !!
