I know its not news, I just find it highly ammusing:
So RD went over one day (not that ago) and started a thread on the EA forums called "Blackhat - please have Mr. Gilmore stop by and answer these questions." . The thread is still glued on the front page (becuase people keeping bumping it) and is rapidly becoming the largest, longest thread on the forum.
Check it out here (http://forums.ea.com/mboards/thread.jspa?threadID=293218&start=0&tstart=0).
Go RudeDog you Rude Dog you.:hand:

And it's being completely ignored. That says it all.

Thanks Dirty,
On a side note, it has come to my attention by several people on and off line that Blackhat thinks I hate him. I have the utmost respect for Blackhat and to be honest, think he has a very difficult job right now. Granted there are some things that have happened, that have upset me but I do not hate him one bit.
I have a lot of respect for him and would buy him a beer if I ever seen him again in person. I however don't think EA as a company likes me very much. I tell it like it is, and sometimes the truth hurts, sorry EA, IW, Activision. The only way you're respected companies will improve their products, is by people like us voicing our concerns. I'm also not afraid of loosing the hand that feeds me so to speak. I'm only afraid of loosing the respect of my members.
What a lot of people don't understand, I do what I do as a hobby. I don't get paid for any of this, I get to hang out on line with a bunch of members who have become good friends on and off line. My wife thinks I have way too much time on my hands and should do other more productive things, like power wash the pool area. - right after this post :salute: boss.
I enjoy helping our members with server sided issues and TBH I've grown a lot older and wiser while supporting what use to be a great franchise, Medal of Honor.
What companies like EA, IW and Activision don't realize is; the MOH and COD community is a very mature, grown up and helpful community. We are more then just a bunch of 40 year old script kiddies (not my words but someone else's and not from EA), we're a community of people helping each other out to be able to spend some time on line, to kill each other over and over again. :hand:
I've seen things online I've never seen in real life, in regards to people helping other people out. People who never met one another in person but online they are good friends and willing to help with things not even related to gaming. This community MOH and COD is one of the best I've ever been involved in.
So in one way I take things very personal, when a game company tries to ruin if for this great community, but on the other hand, I'm currently on the fence wondering if some of us need to move on and leave MOH in the past
I've vowed to hold off posting on the official EA forums until the next patch is released. I've also held off on the promise I made to one of the other MOH PC community members who attended the Fort Bragg summit. I was going to reevaluate MOH when it was released to see if I was too harsh on the game in my preview review back in Aug, before the game was released. Because of the current state of MOH, I'm holding off on this review until patch 2 is released, unless that fall into next year.
As they say over in the EA forums
Update funny story,
So I send a very long printed letter to Patrick Gilmore of EA last week from Memphis while there on business. Needless to say, we have some issues and I'm in a rush. I prep the fedX envelope and send it out. Last Friday, I receive a fedX package at home. Stupid me inverts the send to and sent from addresses so I send the letter back to my home address....Man I need a vacation.

Looks like there are a lot of rumors flying around that there will be either an announcement, a patch or something from Patrick Gilmore shortly.

Yeah I can't nail down where this has come from but there seems to be something brewing.

Fix? Patch? I fear that will not be enough to save Airborne. Its going to take a major rewrite to save this puppy. It has more warts than a South American Cane Toad. I can't begin to say how much I expected from Airborne because of all the hype pumped out by BlackHat. From playability to Dedicated Server functions. Unfortunately, it was a dismal and complete disappointment in every aspect.
At this point in time, "Seeing is Believing!" - That's ME! Airborne, in its current condition is nowhere near the quality and reliability many of us have already experienced and enjoyed with many other online games.
Plainly put, EA did us dirty!

Something must be coming before this Friday, why you ask? Because Crysis is releasing it's SP beta along with what looks like an amazing sandbox editor.
With CoD4 only a couple very short weeks away, I guess EA wants to try and get that "traction" they needed, when the game was first released.

Thanks Dirty,
Your welcome.
Note: I am bumping that thread but due to EA account issues I am using another name. HEHE I thinkk I would get banned if I used my BF2142 or BF2 names on the forum.:hand:

The only way they could possibly get people interested is if the patch was a major one and huge with it.
massive fixes and stand alone dedi's and i find that very hard to believe in the short space of time since the last patch unless they outsourced in a very very big way???
I just can't see it somehow...

Well, This week is half over so we only have a few more days to find out. Worst case we have many other games to keep us happily over the winter months.

Or, we could rename Airborne to Lazurus and hope for a Biblical "happening"!! :)
For all intents and purposes, I sadly feel Airborne is dead. :(

Ya, tell us about it... rudedog had email contact with BH for 2 years and looked what happened with the game.
You must be joking.

I first found your mohadmin.com website back in the day, and when I got promoted in my clan to "admin," I found all the rcon guides, admin guides, sever configs, etc.. that Rude put up on the website, FREE OF CHARGE, to be the most valuable I have ever used.
I found your statement about "this is just a hobby" very familiar. I love MP WWII shooters, and have been a huge fan of MOHAA, Spearhead, and CODUO. I have spent a considerable amount of money on servers completely on my own, and have not charged the clan members a dime in dues, because I loved the games, and the people I met in the process of playing the games.
I have literally spent all night on my servers when they were full for fear that if I left, the server would empty out. My wife thinks I am nuts. Luckily, my kids are not old enough yet to get into gaming.
This is what the gaming companies do not understand. It's not about money, it's not about time, it's about the love of the game, provided the game is good enough to merit the love.
Again, thank you Rude for the info you provide.

Rudedog.....if BH currently does not favor you it is simply because you were right. It's hard to face the truth sometimes even when it's right in front of your face.
As for your thread on the EA forums......
When a problem comes along
You must bump it...
Before the cream sits out too long
You must bump it...
When somethings going wrong
You must bump it...
