As a rebuttal to a comment made by one of the members of the official forums, I posted this very informative and telling real time info about Airborne.
At 7:56PM EST (-5GMT) Oct 10th 2007
Airborne has 168 clients playing ( I did not count servers because Gamespy does not rank based on servers)
GameSpy stats - located at http://www.gamespy.com/stats shows the following: 30. Battlefield: Vietnam 253 servers, 404 players
31. Crysis Beta 101 servers, 374 players
32. Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars 117 servers, 373 players
33. ArmA 468 servers, 357 players
34. Quake 4 495 servers, 351 players
35. Flight Simulator 2006 90 servers, 325 players
36. Battlefield 2 Demo 44 servers, 305 players
37. Tribes 2 69 servers, 288 players
38. Star Wars Battlefront 2 (PS2) 68 servers, 282 players
39. Command and Conquer: Renegade 77 servers, 254 players
40. Sniper Elite (PC) 51 servers, 247 players
As you can see Sniper Elite is wiping the floor with Airborne and it's in last place. So if Airborne actually supported Gamespy, it would not be listed because it's below the the top 40 games currently being played online.
This is real time stats based on real people playing the game online, which is what most of us here are complaining about.
Those numbers alone should tell you how well the game is doing "online".
Well, this was expected, and it might get worst!

this is true even on the busy hours there are only around 400 players sometimes but wel lets say country wise that would mean if u have 4 countrys 100 users per country while some states in america are bigger then some countrys lol like my own so the number of online players is low.
this has also to do that stil there are NO GSP,s that rent this game not in the usual format as they used to (managed by the GSP control panel etc etc )i see people claiming they are renting but this is usual a dedicated box deal or a GSP that does it the hard way setting up servers and give client very limited options.

Will be interesting to see how the CoD4 demo effects this game, granted it's only a SP demo.
The real tell tail will be the UT3 demo released tomorrow (or today). We will see how well the engine works in a FPS environment and how much of the dedicated server EA ripped out or fubard.
They can't keep blaming everyone else for their lack of commitment to their customers.
I am very very sad to see the moh series end like this! I always played ww2 games since moh allied assalt, and Iīm afraid that i never will see a good ww2 game ever again!

almost forgot about UT3 demo good god lots of cool games comming out.
and yes Zee we al are very sad how airbrne turned out i do think there will be a good ww2 folow up that some developer wil create in the future this is not the end for ww2 games. sooner or later there will be a company smart enough to give the PC comunity what they want and will earn lots of money and the repsect from the players that will buy and play that game.

Lots of games coming out, don't worry. EA has killed Airborne stone dead, it will not come back or grow much.
Sorry to say that but its true, there are just too many good games coming that have been made properly.
I canīt understand why EA Games did not take off advantage of all platforms. I mean, why let the pc game unfinished? EA could earn a lot more if they manage to get a solid pc version...

All the interest we had, which included people re-renting additional spearhead and MoH:AA servers has gone. Not one of those customer switched over to airborne and not one has expressed and interest in doing so.
The main reason was the dedi but also in some cases not all there clan/teammates could get the game run correctly. Those things put a big dampener on things for most of them.
We where really excited about it as we had many people asking about it and really wanting the game but that interest has just totally disappeared. Most infact droped there MoH servers in disgust, many have just moved to ET:QW or TF2.

Well your gut was right.
The game, unfortunatly is already dead. Its a classic case of not deleviering what was promised and having poor customer support after release. What EA managed to do in just a few weeks is specactular really, how can an experienced developer get it so wrong twice with the same franchise?
especially when it does pretty well with other games.

Dirt, say it like it is....
EA felt they KNEW MORE than the customer. They forgot the golden rule about the "customer always being right".
They Flim-Flammed us and got burnt. Burnt to a crisp. I'll never trust another word from EA. EA, Gilmore & Co., deliberately screwed us over. The entire bunch at EA have lost grasp of the meaning of personal and business ethics. They obviously have no respect for themselves let alone the users/consumers.
To me, EA is as dead as AIRBORNE is.

Hey everyone - since I'm so swamped these days, I've asked Matt Pruitt of Planet Medal of Honor to help out around here. He's going to be working with me to help keep the forums clean, and he'll be helping to gather info from you guys for me so that I don't get behind. An extra set of hands is always a good thing :) This will also help moving forward in the coming months as I have to take time off for the birth of my baby. I don't want you guys to be ignored during that time, so Matt will be helping me out there.
Thanks!

AHEM... well then.. back on topic here... Yeah, my clan had budding interest in the game upon it's announcement, and the interest grew to the point that members were throwing cash in the cookie jar in anticipation of renting an airborne server. However, as I delivered bad news upon bad news about MOHA, the interest declined, and now it's a no-go. We are still doing spearhead. I'm interested in moving on from the MOH series though, and TF2 or CoD4 is looking like where I'll be in a few month's time.

My clan is doing the same thing, we decided after all the BS from EA that we are not interested in waiting out a fix. We are looking at COD4, hopefully IW won't crap the bed like EA has.
