Gamespy does not show upgraded 1.2 Pure Server!!! Come on!

Before the 1.2 upgrade our server "Xtradite [Winnipeg Canada]" listed fine on Gamespy, In-Game Browser and ASE.

Now it only shows on In-Game Browser and NOT Gamespy or ASE!!!
I run a mighty fine network of servers here and don't want to hear "open your ports" or any ? on my end. All is fine here. The .cfg has this in it:

seta sv_master3 "master1.gamespy.com"

And the target field has this in it:

CoDMP.exe" +set dedicated 2 +exec xtradite.cfg +map_rotate

So I want to hear what the hell has changed in 1.2 and the solution for ALL of us to list properly in Gamespy and ASE.

BTW I have tried some of the "off the wall" suggestions.
-Rebooting
-Deleting the config_mp.cfg
-Shutting down server for an hour and restarting.
-etc.

If any of the above worked I would have been surprised but of course they did not. Simply I attribute those suggestions to coincidence.

How about an answer from the propeller heads who wrote the game!

I dont know if this will help but mine was not listing in the ingame browser or showing how many poeple where in it. So I uploaded my config_mp.cfg from home and overwrote the server one. Now it showed up but still didnt show anybody in there. Than I saw your post and added the master servers list which I didnt have to my CoDserver.cfg and it shows poeple there now. Hope that helps if not hope somebody else can help.
Also I cant turn off the killcam using there seta scr_killvsm "0" command and it does not turn off kill cam. Than I tried the old pk3 file I used to have and it does not let the server boot up now with the old mod in. So I am stuck untill I can get a fix for this. Good luck RepXSr.

The config_mp.cfg gets written over everytime you restart your server so copying config_mp.cfg from another machine makes no difference.

Where in the hell is Infinity Ward's help???????
This is really pissing me off!!! Xtradite has been hosting games since the Doom days... along time and never has it been so dam hard to get "real" answers.

Look at the reads on this post alone... obviously something does not work as it should....look on gamespy, there should be way more 1.2 servers showing up but there isn't.

Where is Activision in all this?

DOH!! that was my problem, lol. I copied and pasted it and didnt check it. I dont know how it got mispelled and its funny how the little things get you. Thanks Jedi.
RepXSr I dont know what to tell you but thats all I did. But I had taken mine out and my server config and when the update was done I just copied it back into the folder and they did not show up. So I than made a dedicated server setup from my home computer than when launched and than quit and uplaoded the mpconfig and there was a big defference in size. Now it still loads all those settings that are in there except those in your server.cfg. Than it will overwrite only those settings. So somehow something got missed from my first one. Dont know what to tell you but to try that.

This whole situation has me and my admin staff pissed off as well. 2 of our 4 servers are not shown and it's a complete waste of time and money for no one is able to find the damn servers. IW waited this long to give us a 3.59 MB piece of trash that not only screwed up our servers, but all of the mods we were working on as well including new gametypes and various map scripting. Now I am stuck browsing every forum hearing the same stuff all over the community yet IW has nothing to say about anything. We tried just about everything.... something just isn't right.

the only way i got one of my servers too show was too switch the ip " number "

dont know why but for some reason the master server just would not pick the ip up

i could change the ip and the server pop up
put the old ip in and it will not show

so if you can try that

So it appears Gamespy were the guilty party all along.
But will they come clean and admit it? All the emails I ever sent to them, I received "you are at fault" as the general response.


Yet a courtesy email from the game developers would be the professional thing to do yes?

Not to be rude but, you expected more from Gamespy???? They have always been a week behind the rest of the gaming community in getting things organized and done and a day ahead in releasing gossip.

If a server isn't listing in 3rd party browsers there isn't much we can do. It looks like gamespy has updated their stuff today, I'm not sure what ASE needs to do.

Inherent there is no need to be apologetic. I think the Game server Admins are losing sight with what this forum is all about. We are here to solve problems my friends. If all you want to do is complain, please go elsewhere. Solutions are not resolved this way. Any help we can get from the IW crew, on thier own personal time mind you, is greatly appreciated. Patches for bugs are not created in a matter of seconds, there is alot of work which goes into it, so do like the rest of us do....wait.

If gamespy DID update their stuff, something still isnt right.

IW - as far as 3rd party software - is your INGAME browser 3rd party? My server still does not show. Even if I make a FAVORITE link, its not there.

While I like 90% of the patch, this is one of the things that I am having problems with.

Obviously, if I missed something - tell me, dont flame me.

heh I'm not going to flame you for asking a question.

If you tell me your server ip I call tell you for sure but you probably are showing up on the master server as version 1.1 even though you are 1.2. Currently the only way to fix this is to stop your server for more than 30 minutes so it gets removed from the master server list.

Try shuting it down like he says, we did that for our 1.2 server and it came up ingame and everywhere else.

I've been trying to troubleshoot this problem since 3am, a long long time now.

Anyways I've tried everything in every forum post from here to kingdom come and I've now come to the conclusion that there is SFA wrong with the bloody server.... it's been broadcasting properly this whole time.

The only thing that is manditory is that you shut it down for a half hour so the master list see's the change from 1.1 to 1.2

After that, simply go to the in game browser and take a good look at the refresh button.... before this night is over your gonna be cussin that lil thing.

Hit it once. Notice how many servers it finds as it's populating the list. I found that I would get either 111, 222, 333, 1021, 1110 servers found even though I'm hitting the button within a second of the last.

Why is this? Well either the IGB is screwed or the new protocol is really not going down too well on the Gamespy end of things. Personally I would hope it's Gamespy since a fix would be fast and we wouldn't need to patch our games for it to take effect.

So how did I get it to work? I run an SD only server so I filtered the rest... I kept smacking REFRESH for 20 minutes and low-an-behold.... it said 1594 servers. I noticed that every time I get a FULL listing from the browser that my server is nicely planted within a page from the top.... every time.


So anyways, I'm not the be-all-end-all type, this is my solution, or rather my opinion of what the problem is and how to seemingly solve it temporarily.... but this wont bring back my regulars :(

Well, somehow, im not sure why, but I got the bright idea to rebuild my command line. I also had the server down for about 1 1/2 hours to update maps.

Once i did that, it "seems" to be working great.. :)

Obviously, this isnt a fix, just what fixed it for me.
