after the moh:airborne and the lost planet demo i was wondering how does it play for you ?
i think the games are fun but they dont seem to be running smooth

i was checking out lost planet demo cause friends said to try so we could play .. man it runs bad

here is my thoughts from a off line IM that i sent to a buddy
===========================================

holy %#&^ .. i thought airborne played bad ... man i ran pc stress test and got 45 fps avg. on snow and 19 in the cave ..... i should be able to move "ok" with 45 fps but it is VERY glitchy .. jerks all over the place ... i read up on it .. looks like it doesnt support Sli ... moh:airborne doesnt either ... i think this is what my trouble is .. its just running off one vid card .. i need to read
the forums .. to see how moh:air is working ... im scared that this new unreal 3.0 engine might be the death of sli ... moh:air .. lost planet are both the ut 3.0 game engine

hour of victory is ut 3.0 aswell ... and nfusion (deadly doz. / line of sight) are not the best game makers out there... but .. if they are useing the ut 3.0 it might be the way things are going

i know moh:air "demo" doesnt support sli .. it says it in the read me file ... while looking up to see if lost planet does i found this
(scroll down .. there are a bunch of monster PC's that cant run it ... like nvidia 8800 with 4 rig.s of ram and stuff... )http://blog.lostplanetcommunity.com/blogs/brian.php/2007/06/28/pc_version_is_out

there is something going on ... cod2 demo played this way and nvidia fixed it with a driver and everything was fine ... but ... lost planet has been out since May ... i dunno if nvidia can fix or if they will ... im sure a update will happen .. but i dont know .. it might be the games .. or it might take a big game like cod4 for nvidia to get its $#!*& straight

then again .. it might be the games ....

i looked over that link ... it seems that (for the most part ) all they have in common is NVIDIA ... some have vista others have XP
=================================================

any ideas ???

if things run good for you in lost planet or MOH:airborne please post your PC spec.s

my PC :
adm 64 4000+
two 6800GT 256MB running in sli
2 gig.s of ram

thank you :salute:

This is a brand new game engine, destined to last for at least 3-4 years.. I am guessing it has features in that are not currently supported by or run quickly on current gpus.. This is for good reason, the longevity of the game engine.

I think that you will start seeing the true potential of this engine once the hardware catches up.. Which should be on the next gen of gpu.. certainly within the next year you will have machines that will be tearing through this game engine.

I ran moh ok(ish) on my athlon 64 3400, AGP 256meg 6800gt at 800x600 res everything set to low. I tried a 7800gs and it managed to push it up to 1024x768 with details at medium and some post processing effects on running smoother.

I've bought a 7950gt 512mb card, and am waiting to see what difference that will make.. But to be honest, it is time to upgrade, but I'm hoping this card will at least carry me 6 more months or till after christmas, then I'll be able to get a rig with a gf9 and better processor, maybe with pci-e 2.

i ran the demo on a socket 754 AMD Athlon 64 bit 3000+ cpu whit 2 gigs of ddr mem XFX 7800GS for the AGP slot OS windows vista home premium 32bit.

after shutting down all the extra,s in vista basicly the whole aero theme the demo runs not greate but it runs my res was set at 1024x768 at 75 hrtz on a 19 inch philips CRT monitor my frames where about 35 FPS i used the stock video settings of the demo.

runnig it on:

opti 185 @ 3g
2g OCZ
7950GX2 @ 520/700
700W ocz gameXstream

runs nice around 60 fps with all maxed out.

but quess we need some better drivers or other tuning, besides that the SP is good to play, did not play the MP yet

but a 6800GT is a bit slow card to get fun out of this game

OK got my 7950 512mb (AGP)

Socket 754 Athlon 64 3400 (2.2ghz)
2gb ram
Sound blaster audigy 2 zs
xfx nvidia 7950gt 512mb

1024x768
Textures high
effects off, everything else low..

Runs sweet at around 50-60 fps. And still looks very nice too.
