With cards and processors and such becoming more complicated these days, there might be come uncertainty or confusion with the posted specs. One of our VERY knowledgable tech gurus at PMOH has kindly offered their suggestions to help clarify.

*Disclaimer: even among those who know what they're talking about when it comes to PC's there is sometimes disagreement. I am only the messenger, so don't shoot me. :) This is only to try to help give some clarity to those people who are not sure. If there are people here who disagree with any of the info in here, please do feel free to add your opinions as well, to help those who may be unsure.

VID CARDS

Because EA's video requirements are a bit on the vague side, if you take those examples and extrapolate out the performance of their recommended cards against known common models, this would be a fairly general breakdown of cards supported by the game:

Nvidia
6-series: 6600GT, 6800XT, 6800GT, 6800 Ultra
7-series: 7600GS, 7600GT, 7800GS, 7800GT, 7800GTX, 7900GS, 7900GT, 7950GT
8-series: 8500GT, 8600GT, 8600GTS, 8800GTS, 8800GTX

ATI
1X-Series: X1300 Pro, X1300XT, X1600 Pro, X1600XT, X1650 Pro, X1650XT, X1800XL, X1800GTO, X1800XT, X1900GT, X1900XT, X1900XTX, X1950GT, X1950 Pro, X1950XT, X1950XTX
2X-Series: X2400, X2600, X2900

NOT SUPPORTED:
Shader Model 3.0 knocks out the ATI X-series, which only support SM1.0 and SM2.0...X700 Pro, X800 Pro, X800XL, X800GTO, X800XT, X850XT ...powerful older cards (like the X800, although it's faster than the X1300) aren't going to work when special DX9 features like Shader Model 3.0 are required, as older hardware doesn't support that feature.

CPU

CPU specs are also vague because on newer chips, clock speed is less important than before. Example, a Core 2 Duo at 2.0GHz beats the snot out of a Pentium 4 running at 3.0GHz.

So, if you extrapolate the CPU performance based on relative metrics:

WinXP
-Intel
Pentium 4: 2.8GHz or higher
Core Duo: Any
Core 2 Duo: Any

-AMD
Athlon64: 2800+ or higher
Athlon64 X2: Any
Opteron: Any


Vista
-Intel
Pentium 4: 3.0GHz or higher
Core Duo: Any
Core 2 Duo: Any

-AMD
Athlon64: 3800+ or higher
Athlon64 X2: Any
Opteron: Any

If that means MOH:A is a Windows Vista ONLY game, I guess its not for me. :confused:


I sure hope that's a typo so I can run MOH:A on XP Pro because I do not care to use:

If your running Vista (who is?) then you need a 3 Gig proc.
If your running XP then you need a 2.8 Gig proc.

MOHA will be for both platforms but I will bet now that MOHA will run much better on XP then Vista.

Ahhh.... that's better... All my goodies are now running E6700 Core 2 Duo..procs. Its an amazing CPU. I was about to say.... Core 2 Duo and either Vista :rolleyes: or XP Pro:D is much, much more than minimal spec

hi im new, and im not too computer savy when it comes to the specs...but i have one question, i have compaq notebook with Win Vista Basic, it has 2gb ram and a 1.6 ghz AMD Turion64 x2 mobile technology processor and a Nvidia Geforce 6150 video card, i have F.E.A.R and the game works very well with these specs...will this game run ok on PC,??
