With the new 1.2 patch my server has a problem with the Kar98
It seems with some people when they are in iron sights after they shoot the screen shakes for a second...
any one else get this?

I have observed the same problem...but I am wondering if this is a video card issue or the patch across the board. Ex: On my ATI 9500 system I found the jitter occured when I was in Brecourt playing HQ. On my other system, which I had running on the same server too, I had a G4 MX 64...this machine had no jitters. But at the same time this was on a different map. I also tested the mosin nagant base rifle and had no problems. I am going to go back and test the k98 on a different map in a few minutes and let you know the results.

Ok so far it looks like we are dealing with a video driver glitch. But at the same time Graveyard Deciple is seeing the same issue with another machine he is using. He removed his realism mod and the problem went away. I will be updating my catalist 3.1 drivers to 4.1 to see if that helps at all.

This is a problem you are having with a weapons mod. In order to mod the new Kar98 you must edit the new kar98_mp in .pak8/weapons/mp. You will also need to do the same for the Mosin, and Enfield.

Yep, sorry I didn't post soon enough...I had a meeting and also needed some killing time.
I hear Poolman is getting his mod together and should be released this weekend....this is unofficial of course.

I thought it was the realism mod I was using also but after removing it I still have that problem. Could the mod have left a trace of something after removing it? If not its not the mod thats doin it...

Do you have any custom maps in your server? Also by any chance do you have a copy of the realism mod in your client directory? Or any custom scopes, skins, etc. I ran my tests with a group of 4 people plus 1 test drone in a dedicated server. After I removed the PRM mod we did not experience any errors. Also the server was running, HQ, and it had no custom maps installed. Each person, including the drone had a different system hardware configuration and "in game" settings.
I am going to put a copy of PRM 3.0 in my client machine now and join the dedicated server I spoke of. If I experience the "jitters" again I will let you know either way. *Lets keep posting and see what we come up with folks.
I also have an ATI Radeon family video card and upgraded it today. The problem with the Kar was not present in our pure server, so I went in our server with MSPH realism. The problem was still there. Looks like we will try Scumby's suggestion next.

I noticed this problem and thought it might be a bug with CKR rc1 as that's when I first experienced it, but I haven't had a chance to test it more yet. I'm running a Radeon 9800 Pro with Omega 2.4.96 drivers.

It is a glitch with the KAR98 \rechamberwhileADS\ animation. If you are using a weapons mod from 1.1 it will shake. It seems this is due to a glitch with the \rechamberwhileADS\ variable that is new in the 1.2 patch. If you are running an older mod, that variable is not there and the default seems to set to 0. That means that the weapon tries to come down from your eye to reload. This only happens when you try to reload while you are holding down the right click mouse button (aiming down sights). This same glitch will occur if you modify the weapons variables and change \rechamberwhileADS\ to 0 for the KAR98 as I did in an attempt to change the KAR98's reloading for a realism mod.
Check the mods on your server to see if they are pre 1.2 and/or if they have changed the \rechamberwhileADS\ variable to 0 or do not have a \rechamberwhileADS\ variable at all. If you are still having trouble check your computer main, you may have downloaded a realism mod and that may be causing the problem.
Realism mods that contain the \rechamberwhileADS\ variable set to 1 do not seem to have this trouble but that's probably because you are not dropping the weapon when you reload and therefore not using the rechamberwhilADS animation.
Ah logic...what can't it do?

Hi,i also have the same problem when using this weapon.When i reload the screen shakes and the only way to stop this is to remove the user-MPSH_reDot_xhair_CoD.pk3 from my main folder.The kar98 now reloads shake free.Hope this helps! 8-)
