Microsofts new Windows Live service will launch on May 8th in North America and May 18th in Europe. With this release, Microsoft will release the Vista version of Halo 2. Windows Live will only work with Vista and is not compatible with Windows XP.
The first games to support Xbox and Windows Live will be Shadowrun and Uno. No actual word on when these two games would be released. I would have assumed that Halo 2, being released at the same time, would also support both platforms, but why would Microsoft do something like that when we can spend hours playing Uno against our console buddies. No word from Redmond if Halo 2 will have full support for DX10.

"We’re proud to be extending the best-in-class Xbox Live service to include Games for Windows Live, which will connect more than six million Xbox Live gamers together with the millions of online Windows gamers under a single online service."
I wonder how their best-in class service will complete with the original online services from the PC side of things. Remember they never had any real competition on the console side.
