anyone who is into Linux or Suse to be specific and can point me in the right direction of a mail server with a gui?
I've been struggling with Suse the last year or so and would hate to change dist just to get a mail server i can setup in a gui front end. I just can't find the time to learn Linux console commands, actually it feels like i'm too stupid, feels like you have to learn how to bicycle again with only one wheel, stering with your feet and reverse only  . After two days of searching all i came up with was vPostMaster who supports some distros but of cource not Suse but damn, it looked just what i wanted.

I don't know of any linux MTA's that can be setup using a GUI. I'm using qmail for years already and I have to say there are very good installation guides available for this installing this MTA. If you do a good search on Google you can find installation guides where you just can copy/paste the commands.
Also, I don't know Suse but doesn't it have some package manager (apt-get, yum, whatever)?

As i mentioned, vPostMaster has it, or it is web based but that's good enough for me and i know Suse Linux enterprise Server has front ends for all server set ups.
I am really not a experienced Linux user, i choosed Suse since i know Novell is a well reputated company and i managed to set up a file server but this is as far as i go on Linux, it's so far from what i know about computing that i've almost have become anti Linux.
Okey, so where does this put me? I have a choice of going for a win server, but who can pay that money for a server for personal use? It's just not an option either. I guess i'll just have to pay for a mail server provider or pay someone near who can set up the machine with linux on location.
I've seen the copy/paste guides but they always require more linux skills than i have. "You need to have this and that installed", "need to do this and that before you continue".
Been googling for the last two days now, gonna continue today but this is the final try, it's just not worth the effort and time.

Why don't you look around the web for webhosters with control panel software (I think 99% has that). Many well-known control panels like plesk, direct admin etc have functions for e-mail. It will only costs you a couple of euros monthly.

You could try using Webmin, it has modules to configure many mail servers.

Mm this is a bigger issue than one can believe. We've been through two web hotels the past year and have finally decided to host the homepage ourselves. Port blocking is the main issue here.. Anyway, I subscribed to a service just a couple of days ago, a pointing service i guess you can say and that costs a couple of euros a month, i don't want to add more expences to that but thanks anyway
