"Activision Releases Call of Duty 2: Game Of The Year Edition"

#1 Best-Selling Xbox 360 Title Covers More Ground with Special Edition

Providing fans of the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft with access to fresh, new content and behind-the-scenes access to the # 1 Xbox 360 launch title, Activision, Inc., today announced the release of Call of Duty 2: Game of the Year. In addition to Infinity Ward’s original Call of Duty 2 game, the special retail edition will also include a token that can be redeemed for the recently released Call of Duty 2: Skirmish Map Pack, two new multiplayer maps (a 400 Microsoft Point value) currently available through Xbox Live Marketplace. Call of Duty 2: Game of the Year will also include a bonus DVD containing “making of” footage, historic interviews and commentaries and mission walkthroughs from the developers at Infinity Ward.

“With the Call of Duty 2: Game of the Year special edition, we’re providing Xbox 360 gamers access to more great content,” said Dusty Welch, vice president of global brand management, Activision, Inc. “With a bonus DVD and access to new multiplayer maps, the Game of the Year edition delivers the most intense Call of Duty 2 experience to date, all in one package.”

The sequel to Infinity Ward’s 2003 Game of the Year and the # 1 Xbox 360 launch title, Call of Duty 2 delivers an unparalleled portrayal of the cinematic intensity and chaos of battle as seen through the eyes of ordinary soldiers fighting together in epic WWII conflicts. Call of Duty 2 is powered by a proprietary new engine featuring striking new visuals, advanced A.I. technology, the most authentic squad combat and astonishing action in new historic campaigns. The sequel offers more immense, more intense and more realistic battles than ever, as players experience four individual soldier stories to overcome insurmountable odds in multiple campaigns.

Call of Duty 2 for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft is rated “T” (TEEN – blood, mild language and violence) by the ESRB and is available nationwide."

Persoanlly I feel Activision has really missed a trick with Callk of Duty. They have a game that is ranked on of the best of all time and yet they are failing to support it and develope it primiarily becuase its PC based. Console games provide lower profit margins and are more restrictive.

PC gaming is also set rise if you read what many game industry sources are saying Microsoft and Nividia (i assume ATI are the same) are set to really push the PC as gaming platform, infact Nividia arleady state the PSŁ and Xbox 360 graphics can be bettered on a PC.

I just think Activision have missed the boat and if they are not careful and EA get MOH:A working well then Call of Duty will die fast.

Well said, Dirtnap

We all need to remember that EA was in the same boat, (personally I would say not as bad) as IW/ACT is in now.

What gets me is you have people trying to defend these types of actions (Tally's post to the community over at fileplanet).

I guess it's not OK to hold a company responsible for their actions good and or bad.

Then we are wrong for wanting something we paid for...oh well.

Tally's post huh, LOL LOL, that guy cracks me up every time he opens his mouth. And believe me the right people will know all this week when it comes to Tally ol boy........

But yes, The new MOH:A fps thats due out later this year, if EA plays the cards right, we could see IW's reign as the WW2 fps king get taken away.
