View Full Version : Server mod
Hi im having a little bit of a problem putting mods onto my server, i put the mod into the main folder, restart the game and it doesnt work. Is their a special command or something to activate the mod? thanks
We had the same problem, due to a conflict with the mods trying to work with eachother. Try one mod at a time, adding one more to see which might be giving you problems. If you can isolate which mods have the conflict you may want to contact the mod maker and see if they can tweak the mod or maybe even combine them. What we figured out was that we had to combine three mods into one after we tweaked them. It worked fine after that. You are gonna play with it and contact the moders, most are willing ot help. What mods are trying to run? Maybe some guys in here can figure out what it is you need to change or tweak.
oh ok, im trying to run ec rifles and pam
do i need to do that fs_game thing or something?

You can either use +set fs_game or put the mod files in the /main folder. If you're not sure how to use the fs_game setup, we can help you with that or search the forum here.
You will need to use a command to execute the mod, and as Tex points out, not all mods are compatible with each other so make sure you have one working well before trying to add a second one.
The mod readme should tell you what command to use to have the mod start up when you start the server. For AWE, I think the command was 'exec awe.cfg'. This goes in your server config file. For Powerserver, it's 'exec powerserver.cfg', etc. For PAM, I think it's 'set sv_pam 1'. The mod needs to execute before the map rotation.

I'm the author of ec_rifles. If you are trying to get the mod to work using the .iwd alone it will not function. PAM also overwrites many of the .gsc files within my mod. I don't recommend using both. Send me an email, i'll set you up with the complete package for your server.

I'm currently modding for 4 titles at the moment so my download section on site is still in need of completion.
