MP Demo?

Will there be a MP demo avail. to test servers with, and give clanners a chance to decide if this is the game for them?

Rumor has it...mind you, this is a rumor, that they will release a mp demo with the release of the game, and not until. But we can always hope.

Heinzy, what I think Rude was saying is that MP would ship with the retail game, but the MP demo would not be out before the retail release (which seems sorta strange, eh?)

Though it is a bit disappointing, I can understand why they are not releasing an MP demo....look at the fiasco EA has caused with the last two expansion demos for MOH.......

Hello all, new to the forum and to COD. :!:

I'm a bored Spearhead player looking for something new. I am not buying Breakthrough as the demo just did nothing for me. It does concern me though that there may not be a demo for this game for MP. Then again, I guess I never played the MOHAA or SH demos anyway :?

I just would hate to see another game released before its ready. Anyway, I'm just saying hi and looking forward to this new game.

OK, IW never said there would NOT be a demo. They just said it will not be out until the game is released. Many companies do this. Epic is one that comes to mind. Although the did release a MP demo of UT2003, it was like 5 days before the game went gold. So, don't lose hope. There may be one yet.

Oh I know that nobody has said there won't be a MP demo. And if one comes out after the game is released fine. But I really only play mutliplayer and don't think it makes sense to release a demo after the game is out there. Unless they are assuming hard core multiplay gamers will buy it anyway, and they are trying to interest others.

Or, is it a possibility the multiplay will come after the single player is released?

Don't mean to sound like a total noob but I don't have much info about this game. I have just heard some of my SH buddies raving about COD. Hell, I haven't even tried the demo thats out yet. Thanks for any insight.

No, the full MP will be released with the game. If they didn't do that no one would buy it.

The object of a demo is to entice you to buy the game. So putting out the SP demo was done to just give you an IDEA of what the game was like. When they put up demos, it is for people that haven't bought the game to try it out. If you already have the game, you will not even be able to connect to the demo servers and they can't connect to the full game servers. Completely separate games.

But don't lose heart. If you MUST have a demo, I am sure one is forthcoming.

After playing the SP demo, even if the MP is "MOH-like," I will buy it. If for nothing else, then the ability to go prone....I just don't understand why any WWII game wouldn't allow it.

Don't base BT on the demo. It's not the greatest expansion, but the demo didn't do it the slightest bit of justice. The lag was horrible. BUT the point I want to make is... a statement like that may be the exact reason why not to release a demo well before the game. There are mostly positive things said about CoD right now. The thinking may be, "Lets not give them any reason to start negative talk and put doubts in peoples minds". The worst thing most people are saying right now is "Why isn't there a MP demo". That's not so bad. I think what is also happening is people are getting excited for this game to come out just so we can see and compare the two (MOH and CoD) multiplayer games. We'll be in line the first day this game comes out because we haven't had a taste of it yet. We'll be salivating!

For $30, what are we/you (not me) getting? Some new maps and skins (that the private community makes better anyways), and a couple of new weapons. Oh, and I forgot, a new game mode that will inspire more spawn rape (prison rape) than Blow-maha did in the original MOHAA.

Spearhead came out almost a year ago. Umm-hmm. So, what were they doing for a year?? :?:

I'm aware of what it is. I agree with you completly. I tried to make that point exactly in another post. BT is nothing that the community hasn't done already. Nothing new was brought to the table. I'm just saying that MOH was such a good game and absorbed enough of my time that I'm willing to give BT a shot. I will buy PA when it comes out also. I am bursting at the seams waiting for CoD, but after all th enjoyment I got out of MOH I'm just not ready to say it's trash and a lost cause. Now if you are that's fine. You have every right to be.

Having gotten the BT on the 22nd and played it most of the way through the SP I have to say that it does run better than SH every did. I also like the fact that you can connect to SH servers with BT. I think they mau have cleaned up the code a bit. I still have high hopes for PA though.

The last I've heard about a MP Demo is that they will release it at the end of sept. So guessing next week. Can't confirm it, just another rumor, but I'm hoping it's true 8-)

Well as I said in the earlier post. I've just heard it so i doubt that it's true. Think we should have heard something by now.

I saw it on some CoD fansite but cant remeber wich one, but just some guy like me posted it so it doesn't say much. Also heard it from the swedish fan channel on Quakenet.

Oh and yeah. Plz don't flame me if this is just another rumor :P
